UCMS Delhi Admission Process

MBBS Admission

There is no direct admission or management quota for the UCMS Delhi MBBS programme. NEET UG scores determine admission to all 170 seats. MCC handles the 25 All India Quota seats, while DGHS Delhi manages the remaining 145 Delhi state-quota seats.

  • Applicants must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum aggregate is 50% for the General Category and 40% for SC, ST, and OBC applicants.
  • A valid NEET UG score is compulsory.
  • Delhi domicile is required when applying for a state-quota seat.
  • The applicant must be at least 17 years old on 31 December of the admission year.

The process begins with qualifying for NEET UG. Students then register online with MCC or DGHS Delhi, enter their college choices, and take part in round-wise seat allotment. Those allotted a UCMS seat must report for document checks, pay the required fee, and complete admission confirmation.

For the 2025 All India Quota, the General Category closed at rank 559. The closing ranks were 1,168 for EWS, 2,106 for OBC, 13,670 for ST, and 14,605 for SC.

MD/MS and DM Admission

Students seeking MD or MS admission must qualify for NEET PG, while DM applicants need a NEET SS score. Final admission is completed through the centralised postgraduate counselling conducted by DGHS Delhi.

  • For MD/MS, applicants need an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised institution and must have completed the compulsory internship.
  • DM applicants must hold an MD in the relevant speciality and have a valid NEET SS score.
  • Selection follows the DGHS Delhi postgraduate merit list.

Allied Health Sciences Admission

The University of Delhi admits students to BMLS and B.Sc Radiography according to merit in 10+2 PCB. For M.Sc Radiography, selection through the University of Delhi postgraduate admission process is based on performance in the B.Sc degree.

UCMS Delhi Placements and Career Outcomes

UCMS Delhi does not follow the usual campus placement model. After MBBS, many graduates prepare for NEET PG to enter MD or MS programmes, followed by DM where applicable. Clinical training takes place at the attached GTB Hospital, which has 1,500 beds and handles a high patient load in East Delhi.

MBBS interns receive a monthly stipend according to University of Delhi and Delhi government rules. Junior residents pursuing MD or MS at attached government hospitals generally receive INR 95,000 to INR 1,20,000 per month under Delhi government pay provisions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always had the wish to pursue MBBS. Hence I chose this course. The teaching method is also nice, but they could have incorporated a bit more of newer techy methods of information sharing. The frequency of exams changes with the ongoing year of the student. Recently fees have been increased significantly, but it still cheaper than most government colleges in India, and all private medical colleges.

Remarks:

Admission is attained after getting an appropriate rank in the NEET(UG) exam. Soon after the result is announced, the counseling schedule comes and according to it choice filling, choice locking, and college allotment are done. Then you have to report to the college in a specified amount of time, and all your documents are verified. Upon successful verification and completion of other necessary formalities, admission is granted. The college has a very nice campus and is lush green. Students often prefer UCMS over other Delhi colleges for its campus, and single-occupancy hostel rooms are provided right from the first year. Only two other colleges give the same. Academically also, the college excels and is at par with other premier institutions like AIIMS, MAMC, etc. The college building and the hospital building are connected and hence make it easy to travel to and from while in posting. The college also hosts its annual fest, RIPPLE, which marks a week of joy and enjoyment for the students.

You have to stand at all the criteria provided in the scholarship.
