MAMC Admission Dates 2026

NEET UG 2026 scores determine admission to the 2026-27 MBBS batch at MAMC. MCC manages counselling for All India Quota seats, while the Directorate of Health Services, GNCT of Delhi handles the Delhi state quota. MD, MS, and PG Diploma admissions follow a separate NEET PG counselling cycle.

MAMC Courses and Fees

MAMC provides undergraduate and postgraduate medical education through more than 25 departments. Its government-subsidised fee structure covers MBBS, MD, MS, M.Ch, and PG Diploma programmes.

The Delhi government subsidy keeps the full 5.5-year MBBS fee at INR 12,900. Separate accommodation for male and female MBBS students costs INR 11,360 to INR 11,600 annually. The total cost of each postgraduate programme remains below INR 1.03 Lakhs.

MAMC Admission Process

Admission to every MAMC programme is conducted through centralised counselling based on the relevant NEET examination. MAMC does not conduct its own entrance test. A student's NEET score establishes eligibility and rank, after which seats are assigned by merit and category under the All India Quota or Delhi state quota.

MBBS Admission

• Eligibility: Applicants must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology. General Category students need a 50% aggregate and a qualifying NEET UG score.
• Seat distribution: MCC counselling fills 15% All India Quota seats, while DHS counselling covers the remaining 85% Delhi state quota seats.
• Delhi quota condition: An applicant must have attended schools in Delhi during the preceding 3 years.
• Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS applicants follow central and Delhi government rules.
• Admission stages: Take NEET UG, register with MCC or DHS, fill preferences, receive the seat allotment, report to the institution, complete document verification, and pay the fee.

MD and MS Admission

• Eligibility: The applicant must hold an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised institution, complete the required internship, and possess valid NMC registration.
• Entrance test: Admission requires a valid NEET PG score from the examination conducted by NBEMS.
• Seat distribution: MCC fills 50% AIQ seats and DHS manages 50% Delhi state quota seats.
• Admission stages: Appear for NEET PG, register through MCC or DHS, enter course preferences, receive an allotment, verify documents, and report to MAMC.

M.Ch and Super-Specialty Admission

• Eligibility for M.Ch Paediatric Surgery: Applicants need an MS in General Surgery or Paediatrics from a recognised institution.
• Entrance test: NBEMS conducts the required NEET SS examination.
• Counselling: Seats are assigned centrally through MCC Super-Specialty Counselling.

MAMC Cutoff

MAMC has one of India's most competitive MBBS admission cutoffs. During MCC Round 1, the NEET UG 2026 closing-rank range for All India Quota General Category seats was 60 to 129. Cutoffs for Delhi state quota seats differ according to the counselling round and applicant category because these seats draw from a larger group of Delhi-domicile students.

MAMC Placements and Career Outcomes

MAMC does not use the standard campus-placement model. Graduates usually move through clinical internship, compulsory government service, postgraduate study through NEET PG, or medical employment. The varied patient cases seen at LNJP and GB Pant hospitals also support preparation for postgraduate medical entrance examinations.

MAMC Rankings

In the NIRF Medical 2025 assessment, MAMC secured the 26th rank in India and an overall score of 59.47. Its category scores included 81.85 for Teaching, Learning and Resources and 80.51 for Graduation Outcomes. These results reflect its extensive teaching-hospital facilities and consistent completion of the MBBS programme.

MAMC Campus and Infrastructure

The 122-acre MAMC campus is located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi 110002, close to Paharganj and Connaught Place. Students can reach it through major bus routes and Delhi Metro services at New Delhi Station and Ramakrishna Ashram Marg.

Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Institute of Medical Education and Research, and Guru Nanak Eye Centre form the college's principal teaching-hospital network. These institutions collectively provide more than 2,800 beds and handle 7,200 outpatient visits each day. From their second year, MBBS students encounter a wide variety of clinical conditions through this patient volume. Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS) is also based on the campus.

MAMC provides separate hostels for male and female MBBS students, with yearly charges between INR 11,360 and INR 11,600. Other facilities include a central library, departmental research laboratories, a clinical-skills simulation centre, and an auditorium. MBBS and postgraduate students from every batch share the library and simulation laboratories. Students can also participate in NSS, NCC, cultural clubs, and sports.

MAMC vs UCMS Delhi vs Lady Hardinge Medical College

Applicants to MAMC often consider University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) and Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) as other leading government medical colleges in Delhi. Each institution is affiliated with the University of Delhi, has NMC recognition, and uses NEET-based admission. The same Delhi service-bond requirement applies to all three from the 2025-26 session.

MAMC's network of attached hospitals, particularly LNJP and its large multi-specialty patient load, supports broad clinical training. UCMS matches MAMC's MBBS seat count and maintains a strong research focus at GTB Hospital. LHMC admits only women and has a history spanning more than a century. Its work through Kalawati Saran Children's Hospital places special emphasis on women's health and paediatric medicine.
