What I Liked

Canteens are affordable, infrastructure is good
Campus life is much exciting you'll make good friends

What I didn’t like

Waking up early bcz timings are from 8.30
Not providing hostels for paramedical students

Placement Experience:

Internship is provided for the students who have done the course from here only, no outsider are allowed to join the internship here, I'll go abroad after doing this degree bcz pgimer holds a good rank in Asia

Internships Opportunities:

Right now the internship is without stipend, but they will start providing it with stipend also. I am just a beginner so I'll have internship in my last year, we will be getting internship stipend till then

Life of PGI

What I Liked

Anatomy department, which provide the best and experienced faculty

What I didn’t like

The curriculum of the campus, does not provide the classes on time
Hectic duties assigned to the students, with a very low stipend

Placement Experience:

Placements are not a part of the curriculum of the campus, the campus provides a very great internship opportunity to the students, which helps them excel in the clinical field and dealing with patients. The only drawback is the stipend provided to the interns, 500 very low rupees, concerning the duties assigned.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship is provided by the college itself, which gives the students an opportunity to deal with patients and clinical experience, the campus has its hospital, opd, emergency, cardiac center, and many other medical amenities

it is 2nd best medical college of country with best academics
High patient input providing clinical exposure

High workload with less stipned(500/month)
poor campus life as less opportunity for recreational activities

Institute doesn't provide any placements but the physiotherapy is a lifestyle based profession. so, it have high scope in upcoming years. However, one can pursue masters after the graduation for more opportunities

Faculty, college , campus life is good .

What I didn’t like

Hostel facility is also good and it lies near to the academic blocks and campus in PGI .

Placement Experience:

The eligibility criteria for placement in our course is only the BSc degree. Every year many vacancies for our course graduates are out there is very high demand for this. My plan after completing this course is about masters in Operation theatre technology.

Internships Opportunities:

Yes, we have a duration of 12 months)one year of an internship program after completing our 3-year degree. After the completion of the Internship, a trainee is eligible for further studies like master's, ph.D.

Little bit about physios

What I Liked

PGI is most prestigious college and you get to know a lot of new things in this college.
As AIIMS donot have physiotherapy, this makes pgimer to be the best college fir physiotherapy.
Faculty is helpful and they teach various new things.
Campus Life is also very entertaining and interesting.

What I didn’t like

There is a lot of burden of the patients and the staff sometimes don't co-operate so in the end of the day you're exhausted.
There is no dedicated faculty , which makes studying very difficult. There is no proper system for teaching.

Placement Experience:

The campus does not provide any placements. Job opportunities after graduation are in AIIMS Delhi, any private hospitals, or personal clinics. After completion of BPT, one can continue further studying in physiotherapy as MPT or he or she can drop the idea of physiotherapy and join other fields such as public health, pharmacology, or anatomy. For MPT various colleges are there such as SV NIRTAR, GNDU, PGI ROHTAK, etc

Internships Opportunities:

There is no need for an internship from any other institution as PGI provides 6 months of internship within the course. Also, the course is a stipend which gives 500/- per month from the first year of the course. Internship is not provided for other students who are not studying at the institute.

Journey of Optometry from PGI

What I Liked

Infrastructure, Staff, Security availability of Transport etc

What I didn’t like

Nothing everything is Good but sometimes but pgi must improve the Quality of food

Placement Experience:

After the Completion of the Course we worked in different Government as well as Private Sectors as Optometrist cause we dealt with patients who have REFRACTIVE ERRORS and tried to get rid of error without any kind of medicinal We use Specks and contact Lenses for this

Internships Opportunities:

PGIMER Chandigarh itself provides an internship amount of 12k to the students who were in Optometer, Other Universities also provide internships a TRAINEE students We wrote a Thesis which is Given by our Department under the supervision of SR and Optometry we worked on patients which is good at PGI

What I Liked

I like the infrastructure of the advanced eye centre ,every machine is lastest and up to date
Campus life of the pgi is very good ,a student can enroll In many cultural programs and fest.

What I didn’t like

I don't like the the boys hostle, waiting period for hostel is very long and takes at least one year.
Theory classes in my course is very less .

Placement Experience:

Placement and job opportunities are very high after my course in optometry ,various companies like alcon,ziess ,topcon and brush and laumb comes to hires the student after course ,average salary is 30000 per month, minimum 60% in degree to get placement

Internships Opportunities:

Pgi advanced eye centre provide the internship for all students ,stipend is 12000 every month. Their is only one project in internship with two parts which have to be completed in 7th and 8th semester.

There are placements provided and campus is good
There is very less interaction with the faculty members

Placement Experience:

There are no placements provided officially by the college. No recruiters and offers. No package is provided. No percentage is required as there are no placements. There are no plans yet . I can do mastes also.

Internships Opportunities:

There is a compulsory internship to be done by every student to get a degre . There is 500 stipend till 3 years and there is no internship money we get yet. There are projects or thesis to be done on compulsory basis .

What I Liked

I like the infrastructure and facilities provided here
The mess facility provided for those who don't bring lunches

What I didn’t like

The teaching facility is not that good here
The carelessness of staff people and their irresponsibility

Placement Experience:

Ours is the third batch of optometry and our course is four years long therefore I don't know that much about placements but one post was released for optometrist here where three people were selected and that too via entrance examination .

Internships Opportunities:

We are provided one year of internship at college itself. And before that also we do most of the work here. We are also given projects to do in our 6th and 8 the semester total of three projects but the college asks us to do only one project for three semesters .
