NHCE Admission Dates 2026

NHCE admission for 2026 to 27 is being handled through KEA counselling for BE, MBA, MCA, and M.Tech seats. BE candidates use the KCET route through KEA or apply directly under the management quota. PG candidates use Karnataka PGCET or other accepted scores for counselling.

NHCE Courses and Fees

NHCE offers undergraduate engineering courses, postgraduate programmes, and PhD research options. As an autonomous college under VTU, it prepares its own curriculum within the VTU academic framework and follows the semester system with internal and end-semester exams.

The CSE department also offers specialisation tracks in Data Science, Cyber Security, and IoT along with the core CSE programme. Students admitted to M.Tech CSE through GATE can receive the AICTE stipend of INR 12,400 per month, which lowers their effective study cost.

NHCE Admission Process

NHCE uses two routes for BE admission. Karnataka domicile students can take admission through KCET and KEA counselling, while all candidates can apply under the direct management quota. For PG courses, admissions are done through KEA counselling based on Karnataka PGCET or accepted equivalent scores.

BE Admission (KCET and Management Quota)

For KCET-based BE admission, students must pass 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry, CS, Electronics, or Biotechnology as an optional subject. They need at least 45% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics. SC/ST Karnataka candidates need 40%. The KCET route is only for Karnataka domicile students who have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 consecutive years.

• Register for KCET at kea.kar.nic.in and appear for the exam
• After the KCET result, register for KEA BE counselling and pay the document verification fee
• Enter NHCE with CET code E099 and choose the preferred branch during option entry
• Accept the KEA seat allotment letter and report to NHCE with original documents
• For management quota, download and submit the NHCE application form directly at the admissions office. KCET rank is not needed

NHCE is not part of COMEDK UGET. BE admission is available only through KCET and management quota. Students from outside Karnataka must apply through management quota.

MBA and MCA Admission (PGCET/KMAT)

MBA applicants need any UG degree with at least 50% aggregate. MCA applicants need BCA or B.Sc with CS or Mathematics and at least 50%. Students must have a Karnataka PGCET MBA/MCA score, KMAT Karnataka score, or MAT score for KEA counselling. After results, candidates register for KEA MBA/MCA counselling at kea.kar.nic.in and select NHCE during option entry.

M.Tech Admission (GATE/PGCET)

M.Tech CSE admission requires a BE/B.Tech degree in CSE or an allied discipline with at least 55% aggregate. A valid GATE score or Karnataka PGCET M.Tech rank is accepted for KEA counselling. Only GATE-qualified students receive the AICTE stipend of INR 12,400 per month for the full 2-year programme. For BE CSE at NHCE, the usual KCET cutoff for General Category students falls in the rank range of 15,000 to 20,000, based on earlier admission cycles.

NHCE Placements

The Department of Human Resource Development (HRD) manages NHCE placements. During the 2024 to 25 placement season, the college recorded placements for more than 1,008 students. The highest domestic package stood at INR 35 LPA, the highest international package was INR 44 LPA, and the average domestic package was INR 6.5 LPA.

CSE has the strongest placement record at NHCE, followed by ISE and ECE. More than 200 companies have recruited from the campus. Key recruiters include Intel, Nokia, Amazon, Wipro, Visa, Morgan Stanley, HappyFox, Zscaler, and Salarpuria Sattva Group for Civil. The AICTE IDEA LAB, ranked 1st in India for 2026, supports product-building and startup activity among CSE and ISE students.

NHCE Rankings

NHCE appears in the NIRF Engineering ranking list. In NIRF 2025, it was placed in the Engineering band 151 to 200. The ranking reflects the college's teaching, graduate outcomes, research activity, and other NIRF parameters among engineering institutions.

NHCE has NAAC A Grade accreditation and NBA accreditation for select departments. Its AICTE IDEA LAB was ranked 1st in India for the March to June 2026 cycle, showing its focus on innovation and product development.

NHCE Scholarships

NHCE students can apply for scholarships offered by the Karnataka government and central government. Eligibility depends on admission category, income rules, and academic performance.

A GATE-qualified M.Tech student receives INR 2,97,600 across 2 years through the AICTE stipend. This amount covers the full M.Tech programme fee of INR 2 Lakhs and leaves a surplus.

NHCE Campus and Infrastructure

NHCE is located on Bellandur Main Road near Marathahalli, Bangalore 560103. The campus includes eight engineering department buildings and dedicated labs for each branch. Facilities include advanced computing labs, an electronics lab, a hydraulics lab, and the AICTE-recognised IDEA LAB. The central library gives students access to printed books and digital databases such as IEEE, ASME, and ASCE.

The college has separate hostels for boys and girls. Boys hostel fees range from INR 1,70,000 to INR 1,90,000 per year, while girls hostel fees go up to INR 1,60,000 per year. Other campus facilities include a sports ground, indoor badminton and table tennis courts, a gymnasium, a canteen, and a medical room.

Student chapters of IEEE, CSI, SAE, and ASME are active at NHCE. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) helps students connect with startup incubation support.

NHCE vs NMIT vs DSCE

Students comparing private engineering colleges in Bangalore often look at NHCE along with Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE). All three are private VTU-affiliated engineering colleges in Bangalore, have NAAC accreditation, and fall in similar KCET cutoff ranges.

NHCE is known for its IDEA LAB ranking and placement cell with more than 200 recruiters. DSCE has a longer history and a wider alumni network in Bangalore's manufacturing sector. NMIT accepts COMEDK, so students from outside Karnataka get one more admission route there. Karnataka domicile candidates can use KCET for admission to all three colleges.
