SIT Lonavala Admission Dates 2027

The next admission schedule is expected to start with registration for MHT CET 2027. The examination is used for admission to the institute's BE programmes.

BE and BE Lateral Entry seats are allotted through the DTE Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process. The ME selection process is conducted through SPPU-level centralised counselling.

SIT Lonavala Courses and Fees

At the undergraduate level, SIT Lonavala has five engineering branches and a lateral entry route. The regular BE programmes together offer 630 seats. DTE Maharashtra manages the centralised admission procedure for the BE and BE Lateral Entry courses at SIT Lonavala. The available seats are divided into 65% Maharashtra state seats, 15% All India seats, and 20% Institute Level seats.

BE (Bachelor of Engineering)

Students seeking regular BE admission must meet these conditions:

• Pass 10+2, HSC, or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
• Obtain at least 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for reserved-category students
• Hold a valid MHT CET or JEE Main score

The admission procedure follows these steps:

• Register online through the DTE Maharashtra CAP portal
• Complete document checking and eligibility verification
• Enter the preferred colleges and engineering branches online
• Receive a seat according to the MHT CET or JEE Main merit rank
• Visit the allotted college and confirm admission

For General Category applicants, the MHT CET closing level for Computer Engineering has usually been 89 percentile. Mechanical Engineering has recorded a closing range of 55 to 60 percentile. The JEE Main closing rank for General Category admission to Computer Engineering has been 13,332.

BE (Lateral Entry)

Applicants with an engineering diploma in the relevant field can enter the second year directly if they have at least 45% marks. BSc graduates who studied Mathematics may also apply. DTE Maharashtra allocates these seats through its Lateral Entry CAP procedure.

ME (Electrical Power Systems)

Admission to ME Electrical Power Systems requires a BE or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering and a valid GATE or Maharashtra PGCET score. The programme admits 18 students, and SPPU-level centralised counselling is used for selection.

SIT Lonavala Placements

Recruitment at SIT Lonavala covers both information technology and core engineering roles. During 2023-24, 170 companies generated 197 offers. Of the 381 eligible graduates, 113 students secured placements. The season recorded a highest package of INR 16 LPA and a median package of INR 4.5 LPA.

IT recruiters include Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, and Capgemini. L&T, Tech Mahindra, Bosch, Atos, and Ambuja Cement recruit for core and engineering-related roles. NeuAI, UST Global, Nice Systems, and BNY Mellon have also hired students from the campus.

Computer Engineering and Information Technology students receive greater campus demand from Pune-based IT employers. On-campus opportunities are more limited for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students, and many graduates from these branches prepare for GATE or government employment.
