AUCE Admission Dates 2027

Each programme follows a specified entrance route. The relevant examination and its conducting authority are listed below.

AUCE Courses and Fees

AUCE provides undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, and doctoral education in engineering and architecture. Its B.Tech degree covers 15 branches and costs INR 1,78,000 for all four years under the General quota. More than 26 M.Tech specialisations are available, with total fees ranging from INR 99,000 to INR 3,00,000.

The Management quota fee is INR 3,07,600 for B.Tech and INR 3,84,500 for B.Arch. Courses such as Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering, Quantum Computing, and Geo-informatics Engineering are less commonly offered by state engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The 5-year integrated CSE and ECE programmes let students earn both B.Tech and M.Tech degrees at the same General quota fee charged for the standalone B.Tech course.

AUCE Admission Process

B.Tech Admission

Students can enter AUCE's B.Tech programmes through either AUEET or AP EAPCET. AUEET is Andhra University's test for Self-Support Mode seats, while APSCHE conducts AP EAPCET for government and management quota seats.

• Applicants must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The required PCM aggregate is 45%, reduced to 40% for SC, ST, and other reserved categories.
• AUEET fills 690 Self-Support Mode seats across 5 branches. CSE accounts for the largest intake with 540 seats, while ECE, Mechanical, Civil, and EEE have 30 to 60 seats each. The Directorate of Admissions conducts rank-based counselling.
• AP EAPCET centralised counselling covers government and management quota admission in all 15 B.Tech branches.
• Under the AUEET local-area policy, 85% of seats are reserved for applicants from the 8 Andhra University area districts: Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasam.
• Women receive a 33.33% reservation within every branch and category.
• A 10% supernumerary quota, which means seats added beyond the regular intake, is provided to AUEET applicants from states other than Andhra Pradesh.
• Selection depends only on entrance rank. B.Tech admission has no group discussion or interview.

Competition is especially high for CSE cutoffs through AUEET. Demand comes from candidates across the 8 districts in the Andhra University area for the branch's 540 seats.

M.Tech Admission

GATE scores and Andhra University PG counselling form the main route to M.Tech admission. For selected specialisations, applicants without a GATE score may take the AU M.Tech entrance test.

• A B.Tech or B.E. degree in a relevant engineering field with at least 50% aggregate is required.
• GATE-qualified students receive seats according to their scores during Andhra University counselling.
• The college provides more than 26 specialisations in traditional and emerging engineering fields.

MCA, B.Arch, and Ph.D Admission

AP ICET scores are used for MCA admission. Applicants need a graduation degree with Mathematics studied either at 10+2 or degree level and must have at least 50% aggregate. B.Arch applicants must qualify through AP EAPCET and also hold a valid NATA score, as required by the Council of Architecture.

Admission to Ph.D programmes requires a relevant postgraduate degree and performance in the Andhra University Research Entrance Test. International students seeking B.Tech admission may submit their applications through the Dean, International Affairs, Andhra University, without taking AUEET.

AUCE Placements

The Andhra University Training and Placement Cell manages recruitment support for AUCE. During 2023-24, employers selected 995 students from B.Tech and PG programmes, according to NIRF 2025 data. The median salary was INR 9.3 LPA for B.Tech and INR 10.5 LPA for PG programmes.

CSE and ECE account for most placements in the IT sector. Confirmed private employers include TCS, Qualcomm, and L&T. BHEL, DRDO, ONGC, and HAL recruit students from EEE, Mechanical, and Instrumentation. Naval Architecture graduates also find roles in shipbuilding and offshore industries. Cochin Shipyard and Hindustan Shipyard, located close to Visakhapatnam, are confirmed recruiters.

Industry demand for PG students is strong in M.Tech areas such as AI and Robotics, Control Systems, and Computer Engineering within the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana corridor.

AUCE Rankings

In NIRF Engineering, AUCE moved from rank 90 in 2024 to rank 88 in 2025. Its 2025 score was 47.37. The institution also has an A++ NAAC grade, one of the highest accreditation grades held by government engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

The 2025 result places AUCE among India's top 90 engineering institutions out of more than 5,000 AICTE-approved colleges. NIRF considers teaching and learning resources, research performance, graduation outcomes, outreach, and peer perception while preparing the ranking.

AUCE Scholarships

Students may seek central government financial support through the National Scholarship Portal. Self-Support Mode B.Tech students cannot claim the Government of Andhra Pradesh fee reimbursement benefit, as stated in the AUEET 2026 Admission Brochure.

AUCE Campus and Infrastructure

AUCE forms part of Andhra University's 167-acre Waltair campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Its position beside the Bay of Bengal supports work in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering. The campus lies within Visakhapatnam and is close to the industrial corridor along the coast.

Accommodation is available for male and female students. The university has 7 boys hostels with space for more than 1,300 students and 6 girls hostels that can house over 1,500 students. Hostel room charges are INR 31,450 to INR 33,850 per year, excluding mess fees. A shared room usually accommodates 2 to 4 students.

AUCE students may use Andhra University's central library, which holds one of Andhra Pradesh's largest university-level collections for science and engineering. Shared facilities also include a central instrumentation laboratory, sports grounds, and a campus health centre.

AUCE vs JNTU Kakinada UCE vs SVU College of Engineering

AP EAPCET applicants considering government engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh commonly compare AUCE with JNTU Kakinada University College of Engineering and Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering in Tirupati. The three institutions serve different parts of the state and offer distinct specialised branches.

AUCE has the higher NIRF position and a wider range of specialised programmes. JNTUK UCE is often chosen by students from the Krishna, Godavari, and coastal East Andhra Pradesh districts. SVU CoE is a regional option for applicants from Tirupati, Chittoor, Nellore, and Kadapa who prefer to study in southern Andhra Pradesh.
