DSCE Admission Update:

Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, popularly known as DSCE, is a college affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in Karnataka and offers a number of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. Admission to these various courses at DSCE is through different state and national entrance examinations.

Students applying for undergraduate courses need to have completed their 10+2, while students applying for the postgraduate courses must have completed their graduation (or be in the final year) with the mandatory subjects having been taken, and students interested in the PhD programme must have completed their post-graduation, while possessing a keen interest in research.

  • For the BE/B.Tech programme, the students need to appear for the Karnataka CET exam.
  • For each of the undergraduate courses, the basic eligibility is for the student to have secured at least 45% score in their 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
  • Admission to the M.Tech degree is through the GATE examination, with a minimum score of 50% required in the B.E./B.Tech course
  • CAT is the only entrance test which is acceptable for admission into the postgraduate MBA course, along with a minimum 50% score in the Bachelor's degree
  • Admission for MCA is merit-based, i.e. based on the final percentage secured by a student during their Bachelor's degree programme
  • For Ph.D candidates, the ULRAT exam score conducted by VTU would be taken into consideration followed by a personal interview

DSCE Bangalore Admission FAQs

Ques: Is there a separate exam conducted by DSCE for admission into its different courses?

Ans: No, all the entrance exams for the different courses at DSCE are conducted by the national and state universities, and there is no separate exam that the college conducts.

Ques: Can admission to the BE/B.Tech course at DSCE be through JEE Mains?

Ans: No. Students interested in pursuing a BE/B.Tech degree at DSCE Bangalore, need to register for and give the COMED-K or the Karnataka CET.

Ques: Can MBA admission be done through the XAT or the MAT examinations?

Ans: No. For MBA admissions, the CAT score is the only acceptable result. Interested students need to register for the CAT examination and then apply on the DSCE website separately for their score to be considered.

Ques: What is the minimum rank in COMED-K to be eligible for the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch at DSCE?

Ans: According to the results in 2020 and 2021, the cut off rank for the CSE branch at DSCE was at 2500 in the COMED-K exam.

Ques: Are students from all over India eligible for admission into the graduate programmes at DSCE?

Ans: Yes, students who are non-residents of Karnataka are eligible for admission to the undergraduate programmes at DSCE by giving the COMED-K exam. A certain number of seats are reserved for students coming through this exam at the college.
