IIIT Dharwad accepts M.Tech by Research applications throughout the year under a rolling admission system. For the 2026 academic year, the first-year fee is INR 86,200. Available research fields include AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Analytics, IoT & Automation, Cyber Security, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Networks.

IIIT Dharwad M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must hold a B.Tech, B.E., M.Sc, MCA, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering, IT, or science discipline.
• General and OBC students need at least 6 CPI/CGPA or 60% aggregate marks.
• SC, ST, and PwD students must have a minimum of 6 CGPA/CPI or 55% aggregate marks. These categories receive a relaxation of 5%.

IIIT Dharwad Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• A Master's degree in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline is accepted.
• Applicants with a B.Tech or M.Sc degree in a related engineering or technology discipline may also apply.
• Preference is given to students who have worked in a reputed R&D company or another organisation.

Applicants may also receive preference if they have patents or papers published in reputed conferences and journals.
