IIIT Sri City Admission Dates 2027

B.Tech admission at IIIT Sri City is based on JEE Main scores and seat allocation through JoSAA or CSAB. The current schedule for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is given below.

IIIT Sri City Courses and Fees

IIIT Sri City runs undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in information technology, computer science, electronics and applied sciences. B.Tech is its main undergraduate programme and is available in three branches. The fee details are listed below.

B.Tech tuition costs INR 1,65,000 per semester, or INR 3,30,000 per year. Across eight semesters, the tuition component is INR 13,20,000. Hostel, mess and other charges raise the complete four-year cost to INR 15.31 Lakhs.

IIIT Sri City Admission Process

Admission rules differ by programme. B.Tech applicants use JEE Main and central seat allocation, while postgraduate and doctoral applicants are selected through GATE, institute-level tests or interviews, as applicable.

B.Tech Admission through JEE Main and JoSAA

IIIT Sri City fills B.Tech seats under the All India Quota. Students must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtain a valid JEE Main score for the relevant admission year. JoSAA allocates seats according to JEE Main ranks and the preferences submitted by applicants.

The B.Tech admission steps are:

• Take either Session 1 or Session 2 of JEE Main.
• Create an account on the JoSAA portal and enter the preferred programmes.
• Accept a seat offered during one of the JoSAA allotment rounds.
• Pay the seat acceptance fee and report to IIIT Sri City.
• Complete document checks and enrolment.

For the General Open category, the CSE closing rank in JoSAA Round 5 was 23,052 in 2026, compared with 25,197 in 2025 and 26,444 in 2024. This trend shows stronger competition for CSE seats. The Round 5 ECE closing rank was 29,473 in 2026 and 30,803 in 2025. Cutoffs for AI and Data Science are similar to or slightly higher than those for ECE.

M.Tech and M.S. Admission through GATE

A relevant GATE score is needed for M.Tech admission. The institute reviews the score and holds an interview before making the final selection. M.S. (Research) selection follows a similar route, but it also includes a written test. IIIT Sri City directly invites applications twice each year for the July and January intakes.

PhD Admission

PhD applicants need a relevant master's degree and must clear the written test and interview conducted by IIIT Sri City. Research is available in CSE, Electronics, Mathematics and English. Students may join full-time or part-time tracks, and eligible full-time scholars can receive a research stipend.

IIIT Sri City Placements

The 2025 B.Tech placement season recorded a placement rate of 93.60%. The highest package was INR 120 LPA, while the average, median and minimum CTC figures were INR 18.44 LPA, INR 14.32 LPA and INR 8 LPA, respectively.

Because the institute is inside the Sri City industrial township, B.Tech students can access nearby manufacturing and technology companies for internships. CSE and AI and DS usually receive the highest packages, and technology product companies generally make the leading offers.

IIIT Sri City occupies an 81-acre campus in the planned Sri City industrial township near Tada in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. It is 60 km from Chennai and 90 km from Tirupati, providing connections to technology corridors in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Campus facilities include academic buildings, computer laboratories, research labs, a central library and a Technology Business Incubator for startup work. Boys and girls have separate hostel blocks with furnished accommodation. Students also have access to dining services, a gymnasium, a student activity centre and grounds or courts for football, basketball and volleyball. Classrooms are air-conditioned, and high-speed internet is available.

The Honours Programme is an intensive undergraduate research track. It allows students to complete faculty-guided projects and publish academic work while continuing their B.Tech studies. The curriculum uses a practice-theory-practice model and draws on the nearby Sri City industries for live project experience.

IIIT Sri City vs IIIT Kurnool vs IIIT Tiruchirappalli

IIIT Sri City, IIIT Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh and IIIT Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu are PPP-model IIITs established under the Ministry of Education. Students in southern India with JEE Main ranks between 20,000 and 40,000 often compare them by location, placements and access to technology centres.
