IIIT Raichur B.Tech Admission 2026

IIIT Raichur has 3 B.Tech specialisations. These include Computer Science and Engineering and the artificial intelligence and machine learning area. Each course runs for 4 years, and the total fee across the specialisations is INR 18.55 Lakhs.

IIIT Raichur B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Students may apply after completing Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Each specialisation has its own minimum credit target. A student must earn the credits set in the relevant curriculum to receive the institute's B.Tech degree.

IIIT Raichur B.Tech Selection Process

The institute selects B.Tech students through JEE Main.
An applicant must meet the JEE Main cutoff before taking part in counselling.

How to Apply for IIIT Raichur B.Tech

Step 1: Check the eligibility rules and register for JEE Main through the official NTA examination website.

Step 2: Take JEE Main on the date and at the examination centre printed on the admit card.

Step 3: After the result is released, check the score and qualification status.

IIIT Raichur PhD Eligibility Criteria

Regular PhD: Applicants may hold a master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Electronics and Communication Engineering, EEE or another equivalent field.
Integrated or Direct PhD: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or an equivalent relevant field is accepted.

IIIT Raichur PhD Selection Process

PhD admissions take place twice each year. The institute publishes the admission notice on iiitr.ac.in.
The application fee is INR 1,000 for General and OBC applicants. SC, ST, PWD and female applicants pay INR 500.
Applicants may have to take a written test or complete a screening stage.
Those shortlisted after these stages are invited to an interview.

Step 1: Submit the PhD application through the official IIIT Raichur website. General category applicants must pay an application fee of INR 1,000.

Ques. Which admission categories are available to PhD scholars?

Ans. IIIT Raichur accepts PhD applicants through the following categories:

Regular full-time with institute fellowship: The scholar works full-time on the PhD and qualifies for an institute fellowship.
Regular full-time with a fellowship from a recognised funding agency: Full-time applicants who hold a JRF from UGC, CSIR, INSPIRE or another funding agency may enter this category. They do not receive a fellowship from the institute.
Regular full-time with sponsorship from government, semi-government or industry: The applicant must be a regular employee of the sponsoring organisation and work full-time toward the PhD. A sponsorship letter, endorsement letter and NOC must accompany the application. Institute fellowship is not provided under this category.
Regular full-time with financial support from sponsored projects: Financial help is provided through a sponsored research project under the sponsored research office rules. When project funding ends, institute fellowship may be considered on the recommendation of the DC members.

Ques. How can an employed applicant pursue a PhD at IIIT Raichur?

Ans. A working professional may apply for the PhD programme but must provide a no-objection certificate, or NOC, from the employer.

Ques. What academic conditions apply to each type of PhD entry?

Ans. Eligibility differs by admission route:

Regular PhD: An applicant needs a master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or another equivalent area with a CGPA of 7 or higher.
Integrated or Direct PhD: Applicants need a 4-year bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology or an equivalent relevant area, at least a 7.5 CGPA and a valid GATE score.
Direct IIITR PhD: An IIIT Raichur student continuing in B.Tech-MS may enter the institute's PhD programme at the beginning of the seventh semester after earning at least an 8.0 CGPA by the end of the sixth semester.
Part-time PhD: General category applicants need a B.Tech, BE, BS, MSc or MCA in any discipline together with an M.Tech, ME or MS in CSE, IT, ECE or EE. They must have a CGPA of 7 or higher.

Ques. What funding options can regular PhD scholars receive?

Ans. Regular PhD students may receive financial support through these options:

Institute Fellowships: The monthly stipend is ₹31,000 for the first 2 years at the JRF level and ₹35,000 for the next 3 years at the SRF level.
Sponsored Project Fellowship: Scholars receive financial help from a sponsored research project according to that project's rules.
PM Fellowships: These fellowships pay twice the amount of the fellowships listed above. An industry partner is required, and the scholar works on research problems shared by a faculty member and the industry partner.
Industry fellowships: Intel, Infosys, TCS and Google are among the companies that often fund regular PhD students. Such a fellowship can strengthen a student's CV. Amounts differ, but the monthly stipend is usually similar to the other fellowships described above.

My Btech experience at IIIT Raichur

What I Liked

It is newly opened college so you can give it a better direction according to yourself.
Here numbers are less so if you are enough active than you will get grate opportunities to build your career.

What I didn’t like

I did not like anything special about college.
Here management was not proper, faculty apply any rules which are not necessary, fine for any small mistake, not giving proper equipment for gym and for few sports etc.

Remarks:

I selected based on the JEE mains percentile. And that time, due to COVID-19 all processes were completed in online mode. So I did not face any group discussion or interviews. My rank was around 143000 AIR so at this rank, I got it.

Review - IIIT - Raichur

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure here is not so great.
We don't have our own campus. Still in a transit campus

Remarks:

This college is recognized as the "Institute of National Importance", which is a key reason to join this college. It is in between two prime cities, Hyderabad and Banglore. These were some key factors. And of you have to clear JEE Mains exams to get into IT. You need to get around 96%le for general students to get into it.

What I Liked

The campus infrastructure is not up to the mark but we have all basic necessities
I am enjoying my campus Life Because sports facilities are good

What I didn’t like

Hostel is far for the campus which makes difficult for us to walk here and there
Food taste is not so good which I don't like to eat

Remarks:

I joined this college through Jee Mains in which I scored about 95.5 percentile in Josaa counseling I got a seat in this college Usually for general around 40000 rank is required to get into this college.
