CLAT PG 2023 question papers with solutions are available. The paper had 120 objective questions based on areas of law studied in the LLB programme.

CLAT PG 2023 was held on 18 December 2022. The Master PG booklet had 120 multiple-choice questions, a two-hour duration and a maximum score of 120. Although the exam is called CLAT 2023, it was conducted in December 2022.

Final answer keyThe Consortium changed the answers to Master questions 47, 71 and 113 on 22 December 2022. No PG question was withdrawn, so the paper continued to be evaluated out of 120 marks.

The downloadable paper is the Master Question Booklet, marked M. The Consortium used four booklet series in the exam, but its provisional and final answer-key notices refer to Master question numbers.

CLAT PG 2023 Passage-wise Topics

The paper moved across constitutional law, criminal procedure, evidence, labour law, securities law, international law, contracts, intellectual property and company law. Each passage formed one ten-question group.

This paper did not divide questions into labelled subject sections. The passage sequence created the subject coverage. A historical paper does not confirm the syllabus for a later exam cycle. Check the year shown on the CLAT PG syllabus page before using it.

What the CLAT PG 2023 Questions Show

The questions were passage-based, but several groups needed legal knowledge beyond finding a sentence in the extract. The Sabarimala group, for example, moved from the judgment's discussion of dignity and exclusion to the test for a religious denomination, Article 17 and the type of petition filed in the case.

Questions 41–60 placed criminal procedure beside electronic evidence. The Lalita Kumari passage covered FIR registration and preliminary inquiries, while the next passage asked about original electronic records and Section 65B certificates. This pairing required candidates to move from the rule in a judgment to the procedure used in an investigation or trial.

The international-law group was tied to Ukraine's application before the International Court of Justice, but its questions also reached the sources of international law, ex aequo et bono, the International Law Commission and the origin of the term genocide. The final two passages then shifted to trademark law and CSR. The breadth of these groups explains why knowing only a small set of recent judgments would not cover the paper.

Paper-specific insightAll 12 passage groups had the same ten-question size, but they did not ask the same kind of question. Some answers came directly from the extract; others depended on related case facts, statutory rules or legal terms.

CLAT PG 2023 Final Answer-key Changes

The provisional key was issued with the question papers on 18 December 2022. Candidates could raise objections until 20 December. The final key dated 22 December changed three PG answers.

The one-page key issued with the paper is the provisional key. The 22 December final key changes the three entries above. These are Master booklet numbers, so a candidate who received another series must first match that booklet's question with its Master number. The final notice did not withdraw any PG question.

How the Revised Answers Can Change a Score

A changed answer can move the raw score by 1.25 marks because a correct response earns 1 mark and a wrong response loses 0.25 mark. The effect depends on the option marked by the candidate.

Downloads and Format

Are Sets A, B, C and D four different mock tests? +

They are booklet versions of the same examination. Questions can appear at different numbers, so use the matching set when checking answers. A second set may repeat questions you have already attempted.

How should I review a correct answer that I guessed? +

Keep the mark, but check the sentence or legal principle supporting the answer. If you were choosing between two options, identify the word or exception that rules out the other one.

Should I change an old question to match a newer law? +

Keep the original wording and legal context when solving a previous-year question. Changing the statute or facts can change the answer. Revise later legal developments separately for the upcoming exam.

Practice and Scoring

Are the practice questions taken from CLAT PG 2023? +

No. They are original questions based on a fictional university rule. The passage supplies the rule, exception, appeal deadline and limits on the reviewing body.

Can the practice result predict my CLAT PG rank? +

No. It shows your accuracy on three questions. Rank depends on performance in the full examination and other candidates' scores.

What happens when I retry mistakes? +

Retry mistakes includes only incorrect and unanswered questions. Restart set brings back all three. Changing an answer clears the previous result.
