Who Can Apply?

For Indian medical graduates, MBBS completion, medical registration and internship are separate requirements. The internship deadline was 30 September 2026; it was not the application closing date or exam day.

For Indian/OCI graduates from overseas colleges, the FMGE pass and registration conditions also apply. Foreign nationals follow the separate equivalent-qualification, applicable MHA security-clearance and temporary-registration conditions. A college being overseas does not by itself decide which nationality route applies.

Application and Correction Dates

The general edit window did not accept a new application or fresh fee payment. The later image window was for deficient images, not an extension of registration. The full schedule separates these dates from result and counselling deadlines.

Application Fee and Payment Status

Payment-gateway charges are additional. The examination fee is non-refundable and is not carried forward to another examination. Excess duplicate payments received against the same application sequence number are treated separately: NBEMS retains the prescribed fee and refunds the excess after the application window closes.

A bank debit alone does not complete the form. The application must show payment status S, meaning successful. If payment is pending, retain the transaction reference and check the application status before assuming that submission is complete. MCC counselling fees are not included in this examination payment.

Documents, Images and Academic Details

Enter internship start and completion dates from institutional records. Keep the MBBS registration certificate and professional-examination marksheets available while filling the academic section. Indian/OCI foreign graduates use the relevant FMGE information.

The 2026 tie-break considers aggregate MBBS professional marks, or the applicable FMGE percentage. The percentage must be rounded down to two decimal places: 619 out of 900 is entered as 68.77%, not 68.78%. The admission authority verifies the original records if that criterion is used to resolve a tie.

How to Complete the Form

The 2026 form required three preferred test states, with the correspondence-address state first. Chandigarh correspondence addresses were treated as Punjab for this allocation. Allocation was not first-come, first-served; an alternative state or another available Indian city could be allotted if capacity was unavailable. Keep valid correspondence-address proof with the application records.

The saved photograph and the live capture are two different requirements. Uploading one file does not replace the live-photo step. Use Preview to compare the name, nationality, qualifying records, dates and uploaded images with the originals before the final declaration.

NBEMS permits one application per candidate. Duplicate forms are not a safe way to correct a locked detail: the higher application-sequence number may be retained, the other application cancelled and its fee forfeited.

What Can Be Corrected?

Aadhaar authentication details and contact information need particular care because the ordinary edit window does not reopen them. A deficiency notice should be handled through the specified login facility within its deadline; receiving an admit card does not settle an unresolved eligibility issue.

Keep the submitted form for the later scorecard and result stage. Counselling is a separate registration: the examination account does not automatically enter MCC or state seat allotment.
