Which Colleges and Courses Use NEET PG?

NEET PG is used for MD/MS/PG Diploma admissions within its scope and the specified post-MBBS DNB, direct six-year DrNB and NBEMS Diploma routes. A postgraduate course at a medical institution is not automatically a NEET PG course: the programme level and entrance route must match.

MCC's 50% AIQ process is domicile-free, but state and internal-university seats can require additional eligibility. An MD/MS seat and a super-specialty DM/MCh seat should not be grouped as if both use the same postgraduate entrance stage.

College Profiles to Compare

For DU colleges such as Maulana Azad Medical College and University College of Medical Sciences, distinguish the AIQ route from DU internal seats. The internal route is tied to the applicable DU MBBS qualification condition, not simply residence in Delhi.

MAHE identifies KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore MD/MS admission through MCC's deemed-university counselling. SGPGIMS Lucknow identifies NEET PG as the entrance route for its MD/MS programmes. The branch offered and the seat category must still match the applicable admission list.

Compare Fees and Admission Criteria

MAHE's 2026-27 General-category schedule includes a refundable INR 10,000 caution deposit in the first instalment and listed total. These figures are for MD General Medicine, not every MD/MS branch. Hostel and other separately billed expenses need their own budget.

SGPGIMS lists an MD annual course fee of INR 35,000. Its table also lists admission, library, refundable caution and other charges; the annual course fee alone is not the total amount due at joining. Its undated fee schedule should not be labelled a confirmed 2027 fee.

A residency stipend is payment during training, not a placement package. Compare a published stipend with another stipend for the same training year, and a graduate outcome with the same outcome measure and graduating cohort. Do not replace a missing MD placement figure with an MBBS or university-wide salary.

How to Read a College Cutoff

The initial 2026 General/EWS qualifying cutoff was 262 out of 720. That score is not a General Medicine closing rank for any institution. MCC's tentative first allotment date is 24 October 2026, so a 2026 Round 1 closing-rank table is not available before that allotment.

The cutoff guide explains percentile versus marks and the category thresholds. Compare like-for-like historical allotments; a later-round NRI seat cannot establish the chance of an early-round AIQ open seat.

Institutions Outside the NEET PG MD/MS Route

These exclusions apply to the centralised MD/MS admission route described by NBEMS. They explain why a list of highly ranked medical institutions is not automatically an NEET PG preference list. Choose the programme and entrance route before comparing a college's fee or rank.

From a College List to Counselling Choices

For each specialty, compare the eligible quota, course fee, hostel cost, bond or service obligation, training location and available stipend information. Keep recurring fees separate from refundable deposits and one-time charges; subtracting a stipend from tuition without considering payment timing can hide the amount needed at admission.

In the 2026 MCC process, Freeze means keeping the seat without an upgrade and reporting physically. Float uses online willingness and document verification while seeking an upgrade. An upgrade removes the claim to the earlier seat. Enter choices in the order in which you would actually accept them.
