Why you should and shouldn't select Maulana Azad College

- The people. They're very friendly and acceptable.
- Academics. You can learn so many things by the help of the faculties.
Dislikes
- The college campus is too small so that's definitely a problem.
- Absence of fests, ground, playing equipments etc.
Remarks :
I chose this college because it is one the best colleges in West Bengal and also it's one of the few government colleges in Kolkata. There are no admission tests or any kind of interview, candidates are selected based on Class 12 results.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose English as it's been my passion since my school days and as far as the faculty is concerned they're just brilliant, well-qualified and trained professors who will guide you throughout your college life and life after that. Exams are strict as it is conducted by CU and taken semester-wise. But if you love your subject it'll be not so difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
No I haven't opted for any internship. But anyone can try for internships on their own and if the college has some news about internships they will inform the students. For the new CCF curriculum 1 year internship is compulsory and that'll give the students something to experience.
Placement Experience :
There are no solid placements available in the college as it is a general degree college but despite this, the college has a Placement cell which invites several companies to conduct interviews and helps students to get a job. I'll go for a Masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As it's a pure Government college under the West Bengal Higher Education Department the annual fee for a Bachelor's is not more than 2000 which includes Tuition fees, Caution fees, Registration fees etc. There are no other compulsory or additional fees except Semester examination fees which will be taken by Calcutta University, not by the college and that varies streamwise. As far as scholarships are concerned, students can get the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship if score more than 60% per year. Minority students can get Aikyashree Scholarship and these are given by the State Government. There are lots of Central and private scholarships available for BSC students and the college will help you get detailed information about those.
Campus Life :
Here comes the dull part. There is a grand fest in the college. Though Freshers and Farewells are organised each year by the respective departments which is quite fun. Besides, several seminars, annual sports, felicitations etc. are always on the go. MAC has one of the largest collections of books in its library. There are several cultural groups.
Hostel Facilities :
MAC has a Baker Government Hostel only for male minorities and a women's hostel. Registration can be made through the college website after getting admitted. Both the hostels are up to standard. And for those who are not getting hostels, they can stay in PG or rented rooms at College Street, Dumdum which are quite affordable.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
