- As boys and girls hostel are close to each other we have a good bond with all our batchmates
- Faculties are really well educated and ready to help anytime. Teaching methods is highly appreciated.
Dislikes
- As it's a new college and we being the 1st batch ,we lack senior for our guidance
- The college and hostel is completely built .but few areas of campus like OPD , staff quarters are still under construction.
Remarks :
I was fully determined to pursue medicine after graduating school. To take addmission in a medical college one has to clear NEET exam. The cut off for a government medical college for a general was 570 in my year. My college is newly built and the infrastructure is really good with all basic amenities. But there is shortage of facilities in many of the department yet
Course Curriculum Overview :
Medical is a very Nobel couse and being a philanthropist i couldn't think of any other line . Helping others gives me peace of mind. As for the faculty in each department available here are very helpful and reliable. There teaching methods is handy and easy to understand. There are 3 semester exams in a year with a final proff. The exam paper sets are quite difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
I am a 2nd year student. After studying for 2.5 years more we will be offered intership for a year . All students get the equal opportunity for intership with around 30000 per month making it 3.6 lakhs in a year
Placement Experience :
For placement in a hospital,one has to complete 4.5 yrs of mbbs course and qualify NEET PG exam. The hospital offers salary as per the branch selected as a doctor (e.g surgeon, orthopedic, dermatologist etc.) with highest paid is a neurosurgeon and average packege is 80000 per month. Almost 80% students gets good placement. I pursue to become a cardio surgeon after PG exam.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As a 2nd year medical student, the yearly fees of my College is 6000 (24000 P.A). The registration fee is 8000 ,with hostel fee being 120 per month and no other additional chages. I am a general category student and have no scholarship aided.
Campus Life :
Our college organises many cultural events, freshers and fest being the most awaited. Agomon (fest) is held around may . The lecture theater has High technology with projects, screen, microphone and speakers with seating capacity 150 . Library is stuffed with books and top books for all subjects are available. Annual sports event is held every year around January and active participation by most of the students. There are additional co curricular activities as well in our college.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I am a hosteller.Hostel mess has a variety of dishes for menu at a very affordable price . We have access to hygienic food with clean drinking water from cooler . Registration for hostel is easy with only neet mark sheet, registration paper of college and any id card is required. Hostel fees is 120 per month with is easily affordable. If one doesn't opt for an hostel he/she can easy find a PG nearby,not so far from college campus.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
