One can take admission into the college by giving state entrance exam WBJEE, or through JEE, or IEMJEE which is organised by the college itself. The cutoff goes around 15k for lower branches and 3k for cse in WBJEE. The cutoff goes around 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh for every branch in JEE mains.
The faculties are good but you need to find some good faculty according to your suitability who can help you a lot entire your college journey. The course curriculum is according to AICTE. The courses taught is fair enought and you be can take special class also if needed. All faculties are well qualified and teaches nicely. The exam occurs every semester which is generally moderate in difficulty level, but you can qualify with very good marks if followed suggestions provided by the teachers before exam and attend lectures or take notes of every class.
I have not opted for any internship. The college do not provides any opportunies for internship but they have IEDC club in which you can work as an intern for no money but ofcourse you can apply for off campus internship and college will help with that. There are final year projects which is compulsory to do for every students and every 5-6 students are provided with a mentor who sill help to make your final year projects.
The college is famous for placements, but you have worked hard throught your college years you can get good placements because companies do come our college more compared to any other colleges near IEM. Almost every students are eligible if you do not have any backlogs. Some famous recruiters are TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, LTI Mindtree, Infosys, AP Moller, Oracle, IBM, PWC etc. The highest packages is around 18lpa and average is around 5lpa. Around 70% students were placed who sat for placements due to recession but generally 90% are placed. I am in my last year and as of now I am sitting for placements and hoping for a good package.
The fee structure is 70000 per semester which sums 140000 per year for every branch, the fee does increase by around 10% every year. The scholarship is granted if the student is suffering from any financial issue. There is no such reservation for any lower caste.
The campus is not very large, infact you may feel suffocated due to small campus area but once you make good friend you're not gonna feel it. Many fest occurs every year named innovacia, sytron etc. The library is the best part of the college, it is opened for 24 hours and it also contains almost every book you will require. Sports culture is also good, there are many official and unofficial tournaments occurs every year. There are also certain clubs like dance club, music club, science club e.t.c., you can join them they help a lot throught your 4 years.
There are hostels for boys and girls seperate but most students choose renting flats instead of hostels because the hostels are not inside college campus due to shortage of spaces, also there is not such hostel culture of any other colleges in salt lake area. If taken hostels the facilities are very good and very cheap. If rented any flats or PG you can enjoy a lot because there is no restrictions like hostels do have. The areas near college for renting flats are also very good.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
