I personally chose this college due to my interest in agriculture sciences and it is a reputed institute which is well known in India as well as abroad, so it made easier for me to make the choice. moreover, it was in my hometown. Pre-covid, our college used to many tours and travels as part of learning journey, and i was excited to experience the same, but unfortunately this was not the case with us, as many trips were canceled during our batch time. The written test for the admission was on the basis of JEE and CET. The cutoff for the engineering college is around 200-250.
To be honest, the curriculum is designed in a way that we dont get the track of time, the exams are scheduled almost every month, leave aside the practicals we have to perform or the assignments thta have to be submitted within time. The courses are honestly very informative and grounded to real life, but it think due to more courses in a semester, approx 9-10 per semester, each course gets less clarity and the importance is diminished. The faculty is good and highly qualified. The teachers are supportive.
I personally have worked on 2 internships, One was in PRSC for remote sensing which was paid internship, and the other one was a a course on HMI/SCADA in CTR, Ludhiana. The working experience in both the institutes was amazing.
The college has professional tie ups with companies like CLAAS, Mahindra and Mahindra, John deere, Tafe, etc. The average package ranges from 6-12 lacs, depending upon the companies and the role they offer. Mostly, the jobs offered are related to sales and engineering works.
The semester fees is around 47-49000 per semester. For 1st semester, including the registration fees, subscriptions (which include library, sports facilities, labs etc.) the sum total becomes around 90k. but the thing is the fees is increased by 5k every semester due to the policies decided by dean committee every year. though many protests have been there to eradicate this policy, but it still exists. So as a student i would recommend to abolish the fees hike. Though there are abundant scholarships that you will encounter, but the bad thing is that these are mostly gatekeep from the students and the students are not very well informed so the student has to be hyperactive in these activities. The scholarships offered are on the merit basis of 12th marks, other one is for the college merit in 1st and 3rd year in academics, and 3 other scholarships which are named after the alumni and donors of the college.
The campus life is all about farmer meets and youth festivals that occur every year. But it is not as happening as compared to other universities. The sports meet occur every year in march month. There are many groups like TIFAN, GEOPONAS, etc.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
