Punjab Agricultural University is one of the best agricultural universities in Asia. Based on the American educational structure it has a quite good educational system. I am pursuing a B.Sc horticulture (Hons). It is a 4-year program and I chose this field due to my keen interest in horticultural crops. Amazing faculty members usually all have a Ph.D. in their field and minimum qualification is PHD itself . Pretty busy schedule if followed but the syllabus is easy enough. Semester feel is 19k to 22 k but in admission, we have to pay 65k and it generally decreases each semester for SC applicants the Subhash Chandra Bose scholarship is provided, and the enjoy 0 fees criteria. Exams pattern is followed by 20 marks hourly exams with half weightage followed mid sems and finals at last . Practical 10 says before finals.
Yes internship is part of the degree itself 4 The years of the degree is internship and it is compulsory. Duties are set in farms under university and kvks(krushi vigyan kendars) in different districts. Internship is provided according to the field we want to work in .
Generally, horticulture has good scope in India as the posts of HDO (horticulture development officer) are provided by the government with a starting salary of 85000 pm And in foreign countries like America annual package of 150k dollars is provided. Same as in Australia.
PAU Campus is one of the best places anyone can live. Amazing infrastructure and finger licking good food of canteens polite staff and good security. Students generally don't go home for weeks. Not any special kind of clubs are there . In short campus life is amazing. I have opted hostel and there are no hostel timings for boys and for girls strict timings of 7 pm in winter and 8 pm in summer. Hostels are non-ac and students can fit coolers on their own.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
