- Lots of patients attend the hospital everyday so you can get a well practical exposure
- Best of college fests of Kolkata or organised here and other type of festivals occurs every 2 to 3 month
Dislikes
- There is a problem in availing the water for drinking and for the toilet the college.
- The labs of Biochemistry and microbiology department are very old and has not been renovated for long time they looks bad
Remarks :
This is one of the best college in the Kolkata to read mbbs degree. You have to attend for Neet exam for getting admission in this college I choose this college as this was one of the best college with respect to my rank in the exam this colleges located in the heart of Kolkata lots of patient flow and academic career
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is based on the guidelines given by National Medical Council that is followed all over India the faculties here are the top most Doctors of West Bengal so they can teaches us about the subject and teaches how to treat the patients in real life
Internships Opportunities :
There is an obligatory internship program for 1 year after 4.5 years of academic career with a fees of 3000 rupees. Other type of internship is not famous among the students. But you can be in the paid research group along with the teachers
Placement Experience :
You can get a job of 50000 per month with hostel facility if you are in the top 100 of your batch after the completion of your academic career you have to do an internship program of 30000 per month that is most for the colleges in the India. Placements is very good in the course of mbbs of about 70000 to 1lakh per year based on your duty hour
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for every month is 750 rupees the total courses of 9 Semester each semester containing 6 months there is an admission fee of 5000 rupees at the starting of the course the fees do not increase here to year if you are student of West Bengal then you can manage I scholarship uptp 1 lakh rupee per year.
Campus Life :
The campus is smaller with respect to other medical colleges around there in the city but the class rooms are well equipped and nicely decorated Hospital is also small small with respect to the amount of patient candles everyday the college hostel are not of good quality but takes only 12 rupees per month for the accommodation the social life in this college is best because you are leaving the centre of Mega City and the relationship between seniors and juniors and very good to lead healthy life
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel for girls are good but for the boys there is less number of accommodation so you can get a hostel if you have good luck it dependent based on your family income and distance from the college to home the boys hostel is disorganized and canteen is also not good quality but the fees is very low of 12 rupees per month the rooms are quite big but the hostel has not been renovated for long time

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
