Remarks :
Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is a friendly college for college students. Its faculty members are good and well-educated enough to teach students. The weather in the college area is good but the hostel is not as expected. Anyone can join this college through the wbjee entrance examination after the 12th with PCMB. And one can prepare for this by completing 11th and 12th subjects.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have had a keen interest in computers since childhood which is why I opted for this course. Faculty members are friendly in manner and well-educated and teach in a friendly manner. There are term exams every 6 months including internal exams and if one attends classes regularly then it is easy to pass. Fees are less and one can study IT for 120000 rupees. There are various scholarships like SVMCM, OASIS, etc.
Internships Opportunities :
I have completed a virtual internship form HAMARI PAHCHAN NGO which is a non-profit organization. The role was designing content for social media, drafting, filing legal documents, designing posters for public knowledge, etc.
Placement Experience :
No active backlog is the eligibility criteria. TCS, Cognigen, and others visited the campus and more than 40 IT students were placed. The highest package offered is 65LPA and the average is 8LPA. Overall, 80% of students placed. My plan after graduation is to opt for higher education.
Campus Life :
The tech fest of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is SRISTI and it is conducted after an even semester likely in September. Books and journals are available at the library. There are various clubs in JGEC including a sports club where students can be active members. Clubs and social groups like Sports Club, DNC club, CFI club, etc. The college website is jgec.ac.in. Hostels are not as expected, and food quality is not good. Hostel registration is easy, and it is affordable. The locality is good for rented pg.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
