Why you should not opt for the NIT Raipur

- There you don't have to walk so much because every thing in one place and the campus is short and you can cover the whole campus in the 15 minutes, we have two gardens and one administration building where most of the branch are placed. We don't have ground for the different sports even we have the ground, for one season it is converted to NIT Lake. (don't get excited). We lacked in so many things we don't have proper ground and equipments we have the cricket nets but no lights and there is so much to do for the students. In simple terms if you want to fly and this is the place where mostly you will cut your wings.
- One good thing is here is the hustle free and pollution free living the native people are very kind and hospitable. You could really enjoyed if you have the good company.
Dislikes
- Most of the things I usually dislike here from campus to everything
- Canteen is operable for few hours and there is no night canteen , hostels are less, ground is not good and so many things i dislike in simple manner you should not opt this college if you are not getting IT branch or above branches.
Remarks :
To get the admission in this college for the Btech course one needs to attempt the JEE -MAINS by NTA exam and then needs to secure a rank for which this college is available. For the admission one should opt for the JOSAA counseling (6 rounds)and then there are two additional round which are spot rounds (CSAB counseling). After the counseling with respect to one's rank colleges are allocated , SO there are two consecutive exams JEE MAIN and JEE Advance and if one succeed rank in JEE Advance then one have chance to get a college in the IITs. One need to give exam with their 12th or drop (Two drop is allowed for NIT but IIT allowed only one drop ). One need to have the wealthy knowledge of Maths, Physics and Chemistry. One should go for the foundation course and with the dummy classes task are easier but time is precious and one need to opt for the best teachers available to them.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have chosen this course would not give you any advice because this one course i have opts is the worse course offer by this NIT , you won't be an engineer or doctor due to the course curriculum but you will have the degree. Although the college is consistent with their placements but in current session it is failed for the branch from which college is known. Although the teachers are great and they are well qualified as this is NIT but most of them are not like the teacher should have and mostly the courses that are offered in the open elective as well as in the main courses are not very relevant with todays' world. But a sincere advice if you are getting IT branch in NIT Raipur then you should have taken as teachers are very chill most of the days you won't go to the classes which gives these students to grab opportunity faster than the CSE students. SO two exams are held one is mid sem of 30 marks and there is end sem of 50 marks and now branch sliding is restricted .
Internships Opportunities :
One have to go and search for the internship in the IT CSE branches one can do internship under the faculty but in the other one have to seek the internship also internship in the course so one have to opt for the branch specific internships and these are just like the one month in 2nd year and 6 weeks in the 3rd year. But in case of placements like one can get internship they have to opt only NPTL subjects and they are available to do the internships. I first get the internship in the SGPGI Lucknow which was a great experience and learn about the different industry level instruments such as I have there seem Cobas e 114 , LCMS, sanger Sequencing , next gen sequencing and so many things. If you are in the lower branch then you have to do so much hardwork and placements are then just luck oriented.
Placement Experience :
SO the placements is for the above branch only and with the previous one could have better placements in the META and MINING branch too but their is very few placements for the BIO-Med and BIo-tech branch except the above branches there are politics more than the placement. So there is normal company in which if someone get offer can't eligible for the next company . and then there is dream company in which one can sit multiple times. Highest packages are good they are more than 56 lpa or more. students are good to go with the placement except 2025 batch.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
first sem and second sem (Rs. 71110, Rs. ) and the subsequent years fees stabilize around Rs.63700-Rs. 72100 per semeste. and one if you opt for the hostel the mess fee for the year year is 35000 and rent electricity maintenance cost 8000. for students with certificates of SC/ST/PWD full tuition fee waiver and they have to pay just 8000 per semester also for student with family income less than 1 lakh In the college there so much scholarship opportunity for the above students two - third waiver for the family income between 1-5 lakh but if you are fully paying then there is nothing for you , you have to pay full and there is no scholarship for which you are eligible not in college not in outside of college. If you are B.Arch student then you would have to give more than 7 lakhs for five years .
Campus Life :
So if you are talking about the life in campus then I would say we don't have campus among the other NITs , this was a state college which converted to NIT. 100 hectare land but daily life things are easily available to in campus store which a mart of single room. So hostel is for only one-third student the rest need to see outside residence. Mostly the hostel seems to binds in chains as there are strict regulation due to faculties and you will find this college is heaven for the faculties but not for the student. Seriously I wasn't enjoyed this college very much. So the library is very small and you can borrow books and there is relaxation in the fines too. Mostly some branch have their fest too and then here are clubs and committees which organizes fest in this college but at the end the fest seems to be very boring and seriously you won't enjoy in the fest. different clubs and committees, shaurya, go green , E-cell, Sahyog,etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The quality of food is good as compared to outside but you won't eat mess food because here in the city value for money food you will get rarely and here are options for the food are very limited you would get bored and even you would think how one can even worsen this food items. Registration is simple you would get mail and have whatsapp group where you can easily get info regarding everything and mess fee is 35000 for the year in two payment . and 8000 for the other things like rent , electricity, maintenance,etc. There are so many locality one could easily get rooms but the price and the owners are just like the same and they are not good in nature and may you fall in problem consider everything before taking rooms Even in the hostel there is timing to be returned to the hostel and fairly you won't enjoy this kind of environment .

Placenta for whole college is going on good not ver best coz of recession but yeah core branches placements are nice specially metallurgy and chemical branch . our branch average package previous year is 8.7 lac and for this year it is 8.3 lack almost all are placed. For cse and IT branch placement is not going well as I said before due to recession . over all.avg pckg of nit raipur is 9.5 lac gor all branch.

If you are from top branches like CSE, IT then you'll numbers of internship oppurtinities but for lower branches the intership oppurtinities are less. Mostly all the student get placed through campus placement but someone left the can try offcampus oppurtinities.

Top companies visited Nit Raipur for placements are Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Samsung, Arcisium, Phonepe etc. Highest package offered was 55 lacs per annum. and for IT branch Average package was 18.11 lacs per annum.
