Remarks :

Exam name: NEET UG conducted once every year during the month of May (our exam was delayed till September due to COVID) Cut-off is 50 percentile There are around 1 lakh MBBS seats half of which are in government colleges while the rest in private colleges and deemed universities. Further every college has 85% seats reserved under state quota while 15% seats come under all india quota, except for central institutes like AIIMS that have no state quota. To get into a government college under all india quota your rank must be within 10-14k. The marks to rank ratio varies every year, in 2021 I had achieved an AIR of 4015 against 650 marks (out of 720). There's no GD/PI for admission into mbbs course. It's solely based on NEET rank which in turn depends on your marks.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the course for my love of human sciences and interest in the medical field. The faculty at our institution are from various esteemed colleges across the country, like AIIMS, JIPMER, MCK, AFMC and so on. The teaching method involves the use of powerpoint presentations mostly, while some teachers also prefer to teach on the blackboard. Our exams are held according to the academic calendar we receive every year. The calendar is followed rather meticulously unlike in a lot of state colleges where the exam dates are highly dynamic. The difficulty levels is moderate for the exams; semester and internal exams are usually tougher than the final professional paper. The cost to study is minimal, Rs. 5865 for the entire course of 4.5 years. This includes the tuition and hostel fees. Apart from this the mess costs us Rs.4300 per month. Since the fee is minimal there aren't much scholarship options available.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships aren't a part and parcel of the 4.5 year course. At the end of our course everyone has to undergo a compulsory 1 year rotatory internship in all the departments. The stipend varies from 5-6k per month in some state colleges to 27-28k per month in AIIMS, West Bengal state colleges and 30k per month (highest) in Assam. Research opportunities are available though, that may be voluntary organisation paid. I am currently working on my ICMR-STS project I'm the pulmonary medicine department. If you get selected for ICMR-STS project and your paper is approved after final submission you are granted a one time stipend of Rs.50k

Placement Experience :

There is no concept of campus placements in MBBS. Most of the students appear for PG exams (NEET PG/INI CET/USMLE/PLAB/etc) to secure their MD/MS seats and pursue post graduation. Some students take up junior residency in various colleges (contract based, depending on availability and in person interviews). Post graduate students are paid stipend that varies greatly from college to college (in AIIMS the stipend is approx 1 lakh per month, while in West Bengal state medical colleges it is nearly 50,000 per month). The stipend depends on the amount set by the state medical council.

Campus Life :

Intercollege fest: Elyssia, conducted in April The library is well maintained with a variety of books available for undergrads. The number of available journals are increasing gradually and so is online subscriptions. For now we have access to UpToDate and some other resources via our library. Classrooms are air conditioned with two screens in each and adequate lighting and ventilation. Seats and desks are comfortable. There are various clubs (dance, music, literature, art, drama, sports, quiz, debate and scientific society). There are occasional events but the clubs aren't very active and the student body is also small. The hostels are really great with good quality of furniture and well maintained, spacious rooms. We are currently allotted single occupancy rooms, in the first couple of years you maybe getting a double occupancy room. The mess food is average. I personally don't like it much and opt for cooking in my room/ ordering food, along with eating in the mess at times.

BCREC A ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Course Curriculum Overview :

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.

My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College

Placement Experience :

We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placement Experience :

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

Placement Experience :

The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW

Placement Experience :

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Review of my collage

Placement Experience :

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
