There is only one Govt. college for B.Com in our city. I have to opt for admission to that only college. Other colleges are private and charge too much. I was not able to afford those colleges. So I chose this college. There were no entrance exams at the time of my admission. The list of selected students was opened in three phases. The first list contains a certain number of students as per merit high to low and so on in the other two lists. My name was on the second list. I have been influenced by my elders in the family. They also studied in the same college. At present, an entrance examination is started and selection is mainly done on that basis. Now seats are too limited as compared to my time.
I have chosen this course because my interest is in business and finance. I, therefore choose BCOM(Honors). Most of the professors in my college were Ph.D. and they taught us in a very good manner. Their way of teaching was very practical and easy. My course is three years split into six semesters. One semester consists of six months (six months in books only). Our semester was completed in 4 to 5 months. We have to face difficulties because of rapid changes in the semester. Every year my fees increased but not too much and my maximum fee last semester was 15000. I do not get any scholarship just because of the General Category. Sometimes I thought I should have other categories.
I was placed by Icici Bank and did 3 months internship. I have paid approximately 1 lakh for my banking course which was again transferred to me in installments. After one year I moved on to a new company and got a better salary.
Placement was good in our college. Companies approached us last semester and by the end of college, the selection was done. Companies like Maruti, Bajaj, and Private banks came to my college. The highest package at my time was 5 Lakh and the average package was 3 lakh. Most students who got placement are above 65%.
I participated in my college seminars and festival events. I do not remember all but some of them I remembered are: Host of Fresher Party in August 2018, Christmas, and New Year 2019. There was a library in my college but books were limited. So, I purchased the necessary books from the market. Amenities in classrooms were also not good just because govt. organizations were not properly maintained by people. But overall, everything was quite good. Cricket and basketball were mainly played in our college. Indoor activities like Chess, Ludo, Suduko, Carrom board and Table tennis were played in our college. Mostly I played cricket and carrom board. I was selected for my college cricket team but unfortunately, we lost in the State Championship Finale match. We have whatsapp group of college students where we discussed all the activites of college. Unfortunately there were no college hostel that time.
For placement University conducted job fair for the students where Banks, Private sector industries HR's also visited to take interview and thoroughly conducted the interview and make selection of the deserving students.
Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.
Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro, infuses, bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.
I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.
Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.
quality of teaching is crucial, instructor give their best in the class and class strength is divides in two section according their enrollment number.i think fees is affordable and fees waiver for different category.
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.
Decent placement is seen here.Students get placed from semester 7 .TCs,Adobe etc companies comes here to give opportunities for students.Highest package of last year from chemical branch is 13 lakh and median is 7.5 lakh.
There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.
Previously there was 100% on campus placement in university but now it's only somewhat 70%. Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages. Most of students try off Campus Placement where they get some good offers. Average package is about 5-7 lakh
