- Infrastructure is great here. With Libraries, Labs, Auditoriums and game rooms for students to chill.
- Campus life will be fun here. With many activities, functions, fests and many more.
Dislikes
- Unavailability of Internship opportunities associated with college exclusively.
- Less placement opportunities associated in campus placements.
Remarks :
I saw many ads for the university in various places and I thought to give it a shot as I was unable to sit for my counselling in WBJEE. The process was pretty much clear and simple at that time: Fill Up the admission form online Appear at the University with that form and required documents. Then you have to give the JET (entrance test for the University) which will be pretty much basic based on class 11th and 12th. Pass the test. And that's it. Then you can go the the "Admission Cell" and give your fees. And that's pretty much it. The cutoff for getting admission is not very clear but as long as you have above 70 % in your 10th and 12th, it shouldn't be a problem.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The only course provided here for Btech is Computer Science and Engineering(CSE). There are many other courses as well like BBA, BSC, BCA, B. Pharm, BBA-LLB, B.Ed. The Infrastructure of the college is well built with 10 floors which are divided into various departments. The Faculties here are good ( I will say it again "good", not the best). But exceptions are there. Most of them are PhD holders and teach well. But it will not be an overstatement that you have to do everything by yourself (to gain skills), the teachers will guide you in every way possible. The exams are semester-wise with mid-term exams in the middle of each sem. The difficulty level of these exams depends on the semester. The First 2 sem would be a piece of cake and after that things will get a little interesting. There is a significant hike in course fees each year, so you should keep in mind that I was in the 2021 batch and fees have increased significantly after that.
Internships Opportunities :
There are no internship companies associated with the college and it would be totally on you to get internships from outside. The placement department will continuously provide you with all the available internship and job opportunities available in the market via mail. The University often provide internships in the form of online training sessions by private groups like "Ardent Computech" which would be much like an online-course.
Placement Experience :
I have yet to attempt campus placements. It mostly occurs around September of each year. But according to the past year's trends, the placement scenario has not been so great adding to the market situation in the tech field being so bad. But recruiters will come, and you will have to get the job. Mass recruiters like TCS come for campus placements. But you may not expect Flipkart, amazon, or any FANNG here. In the past campus placements have been around 50% of students were placed. The highest package offered here was 17 LPA and the average being 4 LPA last year.
Campus Life :
So the fest here is named "Mridang" and it happens every year(supposedly) many artists and stars are invited to it and it's pretty amazing. There is also an Annual Awards function named "JIS Samman" which is organised every year to honour the achievers in education and sports. There are various sports activities both inter and intra-university like Football, Cricket, TT, Chess, Carrom, and Badminton. There are various clubs for organising and arranging social functions like sports clubs, and cultural teams. There is GDSC (Google Developer Student's Club) where you can participate and get to learn many things from your fellow seniors and GDSC lead with the team.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
Jalpaiguri Institute of technology good collage but fees are high

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
