PGIMER Chandigarh allotted MD/MS seats through INI-CET rank. Students selected the institute and specialisation during online choice filling.
Key Insight: PGIMER Chandigarh has no rural service bond after MD/MS completion. A student who withdraws midway must pay INR 1,00,000 if leaving within 6 months and INR 5,00,000 if leaving after 6 months. No extra security deposit is forfeited beyond this. Residents receive INR 56,100 as monthly basic pay from the first day.
Students value PGIMER for its strong reputation among medical colleges in India and its recognised position in Asia and worldwide. This standing can add value to the degree and may support future opportunities abroad.
PGIMER Chandigarh admits students to DM and M.Ch through INI SS, the entrance and counselling process for super-specialty seats at Institutes of National Importance. Since PGIMER is an INI, AIIMS Delhi conducts counselling for these seats, and MCC is not involved.
| Programme | Eligibility Criteria | Selection Basis |
|---|---|---|
| DM | MD/MS or DNB in the relevant specialty from an NMC-recognized institute, one-year post-MD/MS training completed, and 45 years as the General category age limit for the July 2026 session | INI SS Stage 1 CBT, Stage 2 Departmental Assessment at PGIMER, and final INI SS merit rank |

| DM/M.Ch (Sponsored) | Same academic requirement as above, employment with at least 2 years of institutional service, NOC required, and no upper age limit | INI SS merit rank and PGIMER campus counselling |

Key Insight: In INI SS Round 2, a candidate who chooses upgradation after a Round 1 allotment must join the upgraded institute if allotted. Not joining the upgraded Round 2 seat leads to a penalty of INR 3,00,000. Candidates who want to keep their Round 1 seat should freeze it.
BSc Nursing admission at PGIMER Chandigarh is done through an entrance exam conducted by the institute. The 4-year BSc Nursing course has 93 seats, and the 2-year Post-Basic BSc Nursing course has 62 seats. Together, both programmes have 155 seats.
