B.Tech CSE and AI-ML are the School of Computing's main programmes, and this school has the university's highest enrolment. GGU also offers seven allied health B.Sc streams through the School of Health Sciences, a range that is not commonly found outside medical universities in Andhra Pradesh.

GGU Admission Process

GGU fills state quota seats through the APSCHE system, while the university handles management quota admissions directly. APSCHE, Amaravati, regulates the state counselling route used by private universities in Andhra Pradesh.

B.Tech Admission

Students seeking B.Tech admission must meet these eligibility conditions:

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; the PCB combination applies to Agricultural Engineering
  • Obtain at least 45% aggregate marks, or 40% for reserved categories
  • Hold a valid AP EAPCET rank or JEE Main score

The state quota admission process involves the following steps:

  • Qualify for AP EAPCET, which is conducted by APSCHE, Amaravati
  • Use the qualifying rank to register for APSCHE web counselling
  • Enter course and college choices online; allotment depends on merit rank and category
  • Complete document verification and report to GGU after receiving a seat

Applicants for management and NRI quota seats can apply through GGU's admission portal without taking part in APSCHE counselling.

B.Pharma and Health Sciences

AP EAPCET ranks from the BiPC stream are used for B.Pharma and Pharm.D admissions. Students from a BiPC background need NEET UG qualification for select B.Sc allied health programmes. BPT admission is also based on AP EAPCET. APSCHE conducts centralised admissions for these programmes.

MBA, M.Tech, MCA and M.Pharm

ICET scores are considered for MBA and MCA. M.Tech applicants need a GATE or AP PGECET score, while M.Pharm admission follows AP PGECET. A relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised university is required for every postgraduate programme. GGU also fills management quota seats in its PG courses through direct admission.

BBA, BCA and B.Com

Admission to these undergraduate management and commerce programmes depends on 10+2 merit. No compulsory entrance examination is specified, and students apply directly through ggu.edu.in.

GGU Placements

In the 2024 placement season, GGU reported that 761 students from four-year undergraduate programmes secured placements. The overall rate stood at 89%, with a median salary package of INR 4.5 LPA. The recruiter list included Cognizant, Virtusa, TCS and Capgemini.

Note: The institution became GGU in 2024, so these figures cover the GIET period and the initial transition to university status. The university has reported the data itself, and independent NIRF verification under the GGU entity is not yet available. Results can differ by branch and graduating batch.

Most campus placements come from the School of Computing. Students graduating from health science programmes generally explore recruitment by hospital groups and diagnostic chains or follow NEET PG pathways instead of conventional campus drives. Pharmacy students can pursue hospital pharmacy roles and research internships connected with the institution's DSIR-SIRO recognition.

Placement Metric 2024 Season
Students Placed 761
Placement Rate 89%
Median Package (UG 4-year) INR 4.5 LPA
Top Recruiters Cognizant, Virtusa, TCS, Capgemini

GGU Campus and Infrastructure

GGU's 100-acre campus at Rajahmundry contains separate departmental buildings for its six schools. Academic facilities include research laboratories, health science simulation labs and a central library. Through its DSIR-SIRO recognition, the university can seek government-funded research grants. This status also supports access to research stipends for M.Tech, M.Pharm and PhD scholars.

Separate residential blocks provide furnished accommodation for 550 boys and 400 girls. The on-campus hostels include mess services and security throughout the day and night. Battery-powered vehicles help students travel between campus buildings. Students can also use a sports complex that provides professional coaching in several disciplines.

Oracle Academy, Microsoft and Cisco are among the university's industry partners. These partnerships support laboratory certifications and placement routes for computing students. An Entrepreneurship Development Cell operates at GGU, along with technical clubs across five academic schools. DSIR-SIRO recognition also supports research partnerships with national laboratories and industry research and development divisions.

GGU vs KL University vs Vignan University

Students from East Godavari, West Godavari and the Krishna-Guntur corridor often consider GGU Rajahmundry alongside KL University (KLU), Vijayawada and Vignan University, Vadlamudi. These three private universities serve many of the same engineering and management applicants in Andhra Pradesh.
