Silicon University Admission 2026, for the institution formerly known as Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, is entrance based for every programme. B.Tech admission depends on JEE Main or OJEE, while PG admission uses GATE, OJEE PGAT, or SUAT, the Silicon University Admission Test. The one-time joining fee is INR 20,000 for UG programmes and INR 10,000 for PG programmes. Semester fees are paid separately during reporting.

Silicon University runs B.Tech across five branches with a total intake of 720 seats. CSE has the highest number of seats. Students admitted through university-level counselling and Odisha state-level counselling study at the same Silicon Hills, Patia, Bhubaneswar campus.

Admission Update:

B.Tech through JEE Main: Applications have been open from March 24, 2026. The academic session started on August 10, 2026. University counselling rounds are continuing.
B.Tech through OJEE: OJEE 2026 was held from May 4 to May 9, 2026. The result was announced on June 6, 2026 (Tentative). Web counselling follows this process.
M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc.: Counselling schedules based on OJEE PGAT and SUAT are available at silicon.ac.in.

University-level counselling based on JEE Main merit fills 50% of B.Tech seats. OJEE web counselling fills the other 50%.
B.Tech applicants need at least 45% marks in Class 12 PCM. SC and ST candidates need 40%.
At joining, students pay a one-time admission fee of INR 20,000 for UG programmes and INR 10,000 for PG programmes. Semester fees are paid separately at reporting.
JEE Main rank holders can get merit scholarships. To renew the scholarship, students need a CGPA of 8.5 or higher, no backlog papers, and at least 80% attendance.

Silicon University B.Tech Admission 2026

B.Tech admission at Silicon University is offered through two counselling routes. The university uses the JEE Main Common Rank List for university-level seats and OJEE rank for Odisha state-quota seats. Together, these routes cover 720 B.Tech seats in five branches.

Silicon University B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2026

Students must pass Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject from Chemistry, Computer Science, IT, Biochemistry, or Biology. The minimum aggregate requirement is 45%. For SC and ST candidates, the required marks are 40%. A valid JEE Main score or OJEE rank is needed for B.Tech admission.

Silicon University B.Tech Selection Criteria 2026

For university-level seats, Silicon University prepares admission through JEE Main merit. For state-quota seats, allotment is done through OJEE rank. Branch choice, rank, and category reservation are considered during seat allotment.

University-level counselling covers 50% of seats. Students apply at silicon.ac.in using their JEE Main score and attend counselling at the university campus.
OJEE counselling covers 50% of seats. Eligible students register on the official OJEE counselling portal and take part in web-based allotment.
The university conducts more than one counselling round. If seats remain vacant after the final regular round, spot admissions are offered.

Key point: Students from outside Odisha use the university-level counselling route. The OJEE web counselling route is for Odisha state-domicile students with a valid OJEE rank. Both admission routes lead to the same campus and curriculum at Silicon University.

How to Apply for B.Tech at Silicon University?

Go to silicon.ac.in and open the Admissions section.
Create an account on the online admission portal at erp.silicon.ac.in with a valid email address.
Enter Class 10 marks, Class 12 marks, and JEE Main score or OJEE rank.
Pay the application fee. After the provisional allotment letter is issued, pay the one-time joining fee of INR 20,000.
Visit the campus on the reporting date given in the admission letter and complete joining formalities.

Silicon University PG Admission 2026

Silicon University offers PG admission to M.Tech, MCA, and M.Sc. programmes. M.Tech applicants are considered through GATE, OJEE PGAT, or SUAT. MCA admission is based on OJEE PGAT or SUAT. M.Sc. admission uses SUAT or marks in the qualifying examination.

Silicon University PG Selection Criteria 2026

M.Tech merit is prepared through GATE score or OJEE PGAT rank, with GATE-qualified students getting priority. MCA admission follows OJEE PGAT rank through the state counselling process. For M.Sc., shortlisted students are called for a personal interview after qualifying SUAT.

How to Apply for PG at Silicon University?

For M.Tech and MCA, register for OJEE PGAT on the official OJEE portal and join web counselling after the result is declared.
For M.Sc., register for SUAT at silicon.ac.in and take the test at the Bhubaneswar campus.
After seat allotment, pay the one-time joining fee of INR 10,000 and complete campus reporting.

Silicon University Ph.D. Admission 2026

Silicon University conducts Ph.D. admission through the SUAT route. Candidates who qualify SUAT are shortlisted for a personal interview. SUAT-based counselling for Ph.D. follows the schedule available at silicon.ac.in.

Ph.D. candidates are selected after SUAT qualification and a personal interview. Applicants must register for SUAT through silicon.ac.in and appear for the test at the Bhubaneswar campus.

Silicon University Scholarships

Silicon University gives merit scholarships for B.Tech students based on JEE Main rank. M.Tech students can also receive scholarships through GATE or PGAT qualification. These scholarships must be renewed every year through academic performance.

JEE Main Rank 1 to 25,000: INR 75,000 per semester tuition fee waiver.
JEE Main Rank 25,001 to 50,000: INR 50,000 per semester waiver.
JEE Main Rank 50,001 to 75,000: INR 25,000 per semester waiver.
M.Tech (GATE-qualified): INR 10,000 per month stipend for current or previous session GATE qualifiers with more than 60% in Class 10, Class 12, and graduation.
M.Tech (PGAT-qualified): INR 25,000 per semester scholarship.
Renewal criteria: Minimum CGPA of 8.5, no backlogs, at least 80% attendance, and no pending disciplinary cases.

What I Liked

Academics studies mess food friends night life fests etc
Library ashok bhai store skylab and many more

What I didn’t like

Small campus .. Infrastructure is not that great . Average placements. Some faculties are rude ..
Very strict rules and regulations ..even in the hostel less holidays ...and too much hectic schedule

Remarks:

So now I will tell about the aspects briefly and thoroughly. I appeared for Jee mains and got a rank of 2 lakhs. I applied for Ojee and I was getting mechanical engineering branch in VSSUT Burla.But I had a strong interest on coding so I opted for silicon as in the Ojee it is the topmost private college They take admission through Ojee and their own counselling. There are no personal interview GD/PI. The good aspects are 1. Academics is strict and good. 2.Some faculties are great. 3. Great coding environment. 4. Less fees compared to other private colleges like kiit iter. 5. Classrooms and labs are okayish. Bad aspects- 1.Some faculties are so rude . 2. Very Small campus . 3.Strict rules and regulations. 4.So much overload and less holidays. So overall it depends on you and your perspective.

Remarks:

I got admission by means of JEE Mains only. No other written test,group discussion or interviews were required. After your admission into the course they will form groups of 8 to 9 students and they will ask you to give your introduction and why you chose this branch and from you were inspired to take this course as your career.

Silicon a journey from institute to university

What I Liked

College have one refreshing area called sky lab where you can spend time with yours friends
The faculty are very friendly but strict in academics. you can get your doubt clear any time and they have huge experiences.

What I didn’t like

The campus is too small , the food in mess is average
They college have very strict attendance criteria.

Remarks:

The college has very good records in academics and placement. They are quite strict regarding to the examination . The admission process is simple . Candidate can be selected through jee and ojee percentile. The cutoff is average for cse and also other branches.

What I Liked

College is not really big so you don't have to worry bout running from one block to another for attending classes .It has a outdoor skylab for emphasizing creativity among the students.
Faculty is pretty good and they are absolute professionals in teaching

What I didn’t like

Only thing I dislike is the college doesn't co-operate much with the students for outdoor activities like sports .
Silicon also offers less number of holidays in comparison to other universities like kiit

Remarks:

This college has a very good faculty and keeps academics as their top priority. The campus environment is also good and seniors are really friendly. Fooding is average but one can sustain on it without getting sick. Only thing that bothers is they don't give you enough time for sports or extracurricular activities and upskilling.

Memories of our college

What I Liked

I like about my college is the library area which provides us a very nice surrounding for self study and is very spacious.
Secondly I like about my college is the campus, though small but it is very greenery and clean all of the time so it feels nice to walk and sir in the open campus surrounding.

What I didn’t like

I don't like the food of our canteen it's very unhygienic and tastes very poor .
My campus life is good as I have many friends who made my college memorable. Secondly there are some faculty whom I don't like a bit so there's names are Gyana Ranjan Biswal, Pradipta Kumar Jena, Dhanjay Tripathi, these faculties have tortured me very often and they are not good with students i.e. always strict.

Remarks:

I got to know about my college from my councellor, he only suggested me for choosing this college as it was the best affordable college as per needs and money and not that much hi fi like other colleges that's why I chose for this college and this college is best for academics so this is the reason.

What I Liked

I really like the night life of the college campus
I like the infrastructure its small yet beautiful and peaceful

What I didn’t like

The campus size is a bit small which makes it congested.
No cultural festivals like Ganesh pooja , Saraswati poojas are celebrated

Remarks:

i got a spot admission here in the college in ECE branch based on my JEE rank as my primary goal was to do NEET so i doing engineering was my second choice so i didnot applied for any other colleges . The students get different branch according to their Jee score

A comprehensive Review of Silicon university.

What I Liked

college organizes various fests that make student vibrant. the campus well-structured and facilities are good (free WI Fi in campus). faculty are interactive in nature.
clubs and societies serve to diverse interests including tech, music, art and entrepreneurship. The student community is friendly.

What I didn’t like

campus size was not too big. mess foods are just acceptable. very hectic routines of classes.
college is situated in Odisha So there is language gap in outside state students.

Remarks:

the college offers well-structured curriculum that perfectly balanced theoretical and practical application . the syllabus is regularly updated according to the industry demands. the only cons of the college is rigid attendance policies and campus is too small. silicon take students from two ways: - 1. OJEE (50% seats) 2. university level counselling. (50% seats) the main eligibility criteria are 40% in 10+2 examination.

LATE REALISATIONS ABOUT SILICON

What I Liked

THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT IS AWESOME IN THIS COLLEGE.
THIS COLLEGE IS SMALL BUT IT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND AESTHETIC.
THE ACADEMICS CLUB HERE IS AWESOME AS COMPARED TO OTHER COLLEGES.

What I didn’t like

THE SPORTING FACILITIES HERE ARE VERY POOR AND IT WILL NOT SATISFY THE NEEDS OF A PERSON HAVING GOALS IN SPORTING SECTORS.
THE STRICTER ACADEMIC CURRICULUM SOMETIMES FELT VERY OVERBURDENING AND OVERWHELMING.

Remarks:

Return on investment of this college attracted me to join itand the location of this college is also very good as this is in the corporate epicentre of the capital city of odisha. There are no separate exams or interviews to join . It can be joined from appearing in ojee counselling by giving ojee or jee exam.
