USTM Admission Process

Applicants must meet the marks and subject requirements of their chosen programme. Selection may use a national entrance score, CUET, the USTM Entrance Test, academic merit, an interview, or a combination of these stages.

B.Tech Admission

For first-year B.Tech entry, students need at least 45 per cent in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Diploma holders with 45 per cent marks may seek lateral admission directly into the second year.

  • Eligibility: A minimum 45 per cent aggregate in 10+2 PCM
  • Entrance: A valid score in JEE Main, CUET UG, or the USTM Entrance Test
  • Selection: Entrance performance followed by a Personal Interview

MBBS and BAMS Admission

NEET UG is the only entrance examination used for MBBS and BAMS. USTM does not hold a separate admission test for either medical programme.

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with at least 50 per cent for the General Category and 45 per cent for SC and ST applicants
  • Entrance: NEET UG is compulsory, and no other examination is accepted
  • Selection: Government counselling allocates state quota seats, while management quota seats follow an institution-level process after the NEET UG result
  • Cutoff context: In earlier admission cycles, management quota MBBS seats at USTM were accessible to applicants scoring between 400 and 500 in NEET UG

MBA Admission

MBA applicants may hold a bachelor's degree in any subject, but they must have at least 50 per cent marks. Every shortlisted student must attend a Group Discussion and Personal Interview, regardless of the entrance score submitted.

  • Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent marks
  • Entrance: CAT, MAT, or XAT score, or USTM-CAT, which is the university's written test
  • Selection: Performance in the written test or national examination, followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Law Programmes

Applicants with 45 per cent in 10+2 may enter the 5-year BA LLB or BBA LLB course. Admission to the 3-year LLB requires graduation with 45 per cent. The Bar Council of India recognises both routes.

  • Entrance: CLAT, CUET UG, or the USTM Entrance Test
  • Selection: The entrance score is considered before the Personal Interview

Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences

B.Pharm applicants need 45 per cent in 10+2 with PCM or PCB and must use CUET UG or the USTM Entrance Test. For B.Sc Nursing and allied health sciences, the requirement is 45 per cent in 10+2 PCB. Nursing admission may consider NEET UG alongside the USTM Entrance Test.

USTM Placements

The placement cell coordinates recruitment for students in Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences. USTM reports that more than 90 per cent of eligible final-year students participated in placement activities during recent seasons.

Note: USTM has reported these placement figures through its official website. They have not been independently checked through NIRF or an external audit.
