CUO Admission Dates 2027

CUO uses the NTA-conducted Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to its UG and PG programmes. National-level fellowship examinations form the basis of PhD admission. The 2026-27 admission process, including CUET-based UG and PG counselling held during July and August 2026, has ended. The expected schedule for 2027-28 is given below.

CUO Courses and Fees

CUO conducts more than 19 academic programmes in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, applied agriculture, management and education. The MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management relates to the developing industrial and port logistics sector in Odisha. B.Tech Dairy Technology focuses on applied agriculture needs specific to tribal Odisha. On-campus accommodation for both male and female students costs up to INR 7,700 per semester.

CUO Admission Process

Admission routes differ by programme level. CUET scores are used for undergraduate and postgraduate selection, while PhD applicants need a qualifying national fellowship examination. Students must meet the course-specific academic requirements before taking part in selection.

UG Programmes (B.Sc Agriculture, B.Sc Forestry, B.Tech Dairy Technology, B.Ed)

UG applicants are selected through CUET UG, which UGC requires central universities to use for these admissions.

• Academic requirement: Applicants must have passed 10+2 in the relevant stream with at least 50% marks. The minimum is 45% for SC, ST and PH applicants.
• Entrance requirement: Students must take CUET UG in the applicable domain subject.
• Selection method: Admission follows CUET UG merit and the Telangana Central Universities reservation rules for OC, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS and PH categories.
• Application steps: After the CUET result, students apply through the CUO portal, complete document verification, accept the allotted seat and pay the required fee.

PG Programmes (MA, M.Sc, MBA, Integrated B.Sc and M.Sc)

CUET PG scores decide admission to the university's PG courses. However, entry to the integrated B.Sc and M.Sc Mathematics programme is based on CUET UG.

• Academic requirement: A bachelor degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks is required. SC, ST and PH applicants need 50%.
• Entrance requirement: Applicants must appear for the relevant CUET PG domain paper.
• MBA requirement: A bachelor degree in any subject with at least 50% marks is accepted.

CUET PG admission levels at CUO are generally accessible because the university is based in a region where the applicant base is still developing. Among its courses, the MBA receives the strongest competition and draws management applicants from different parts of Odisha.

PhD Programmes

CUO conducts PhD admission once each year across 14 disciplines.

• Academic requirement: Applicants need a relevant master degree with at least 55% marks. The requirement is 50% for SC, ST and PH applicants.
• Entrance requirement: A valid qualification in UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET, ICAR-NET, ICMR, DBT or another equivalent national fellowship examination is needed.
• Students who hold a JRF qualification receive a monthly fellowship while completing their PhD.

CUO Scholarships

CUO Campus and Infrastructure

CUO's 450-acre campus is located near the Koraput plateau at Chikapar village in Koraput district. It has been planned as an academic township with separate spaces for study, residence and recreation.
