DAV University Admission Dates 2027

The next DAV University admission cycle for 2027-28 is expected to follow a calendar close to the previous year. DAVUET is used as the university entrance cum scholarship test, while JEE Main and CUET scores are also considered for engineering and other courses.

DAV University Courses and Fees

DAV University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in engineering, sciences, management, law, agriculture, pharmacy, education, and physical education. The main courses and their full programme fees are listed below.

Other options include D.Pharm, BMLT, integrated BA+B.Ed and B.Sc+B.Ed courses, post-graduate diplomas in computer applications, yoga, guidance and counselling, and international business. Hostel charges are separate and range from INR 50,000 to INR 1,29,000 per year, based on the room type.

DAV University Admission Process

DAV University uses DAVUET, national entrance exam scores, and marks in the qualifying exam for admission. National exams accepted by the university include JEE Main, CUET, CAT, GATE, and CLAT. Students apply online through the DAV University portal and pay an application fee of INR 1,000.

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech admission, students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2. The minimum required aggregate is 45% for General category students and 40% for SC/ST students. Selection can happen through:

• JEE Main score or CUET score, or
• DAVUET score, which is the DAV University Entrance cum Scholarship Test, or
• 10+2 merit for direct admission against remaining seats

The AICTE-approved B.Tech course is available in 7 specialisations: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, CSE, CS and AI, Data Science, and Mechatronics Engineering.

MBA and Management Admissions

For MBA admission, applicants need a graduation degree with at least 50% aggregate. DAV University accepts CAT, MAT, XAT, or DAVUET scores for MBA selection. The MBA course has 7 specialisations: Finance, Marketing, HRM, Operations, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, and Agribusiness Management.

BBA and B.Com admissions are based on 10+2 merit. CUET or DAVUET scores may also be used for selection and for deciding scholarships.

Law Programmes

BALLB (Hons.) and BBALLB (Hons.) require 10+2 in any stream with 45% marks. Students can apply with CLAT, CUET, or DAVUET scores. For the 1-year LLM, an LLB degree with 55% aggregate is required.

Agriculture and Allied Health Sciences

B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology/Agriculture, along with at least 50% aggregate. For B.Pharm, students need 10+2 with PCB and 45% aggregate, and the programme is PCI-approved. BMLT and allied health courses use CUET, DAVUET, or merit-based selection.

DAV University Placements

In the 2024 placement season, DAV University reported a highest offer of INR 32 LPA. The median package was INR 5.80 LPA for 4-year UG programmes such as B.Tech and INR 4.50 LPA for 2-year PG programmes such as MBA. B.Tech placements are reported at 70 to 80%, while MBA placements are 60%.

More than 100 companies visit the campus each year for recruitment in technology, finance, banking, FMCG, and healthcare. The university also reports more than 500 recruiter engagements annually. Recruiters include TCS, Wipro, IBM, HCL, Infosys, Microsoft, Samsung, Amazon, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Canara Bank, EY, Genpact, and ITC Limited.

B.Tech median salary has moved upward across the last three listed cycles. The peak package is INR 32 LPA, while most B.Tech offers fall in the INR 4 to 8 LPA range and most MBA offers fall in the INR 3 to 6 LPA range.

DAV University Rankings

DAV University is not present in the NIRF Rankings at present. In the overall university category, it appears in rankings by India Today, The Week, and IIRF. Since the university was set up in 2013, it is still developing its research profile and national academic standing.

DAV University Scholarships

DAV University gives merit scholarships at the time of admission. Eligible students can also apply for government freeships based on category. The university has distributed more than INR 2 crore as scholarships to eligible students.

For government scholarships, students must register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or the Punjab scholarship portal within the notified dates for that academic year.

DAV University Campus and Infrastructure

DAV University has a 72-acre residential campus at Sarmastpur on NH-44. Its built-up area is 105,882 square metres, spread across academic and residential blocks. The campus has classrooms, research laboratories, hostels, a library, sports spaces, and support facilities. Jalandhar railway station is 10 km away.

Facilities for academics include smart classrooms, computer labs, engineering labs, science research labs, seminar halls, campus Wi-Fi, and a central library with print and digital resources. Research work is carried out in areas such as agriculture, biotechnology, engineering, and law. More than 50% of the faculty members have Ph.D. degrees, and the faculty-to-student ratio follows UGC norms.

The university provides separate boys’ and girls’ hostels. Annual hostel fees are between INR 50,000 and INR 1,29,000, depending on the room type. Hostel facilities include a dining hall serving three meals a day, internet, reading rooms, indoor sports, 24-hour medical support, and CCTV security. The campus also has an ATM, health centre, gymnasium, transport service, and a sports complex with outdoor grounds.

DAV University vs CT University vs GNA University

Private university applicants in Punjab often compare DAV University Jalandhar with CT University Ludhiana and GNA University Phagwara, especially for engineering, management, and allied science courses. All three are private universities in Punjab that were established after 2010.

DAV University has the advantage of its link with the DAV education network, along with course options in pharmacy, agriculture, law, engineering, and management. It also has a residential campus on NH-44. CT University and GNA University offer engineering and management courses in a similar fee range in Punjab. These universities serve students looking for private university options without the national-level admission pressure of IITs or NITs.
