Central University of Tamil Nadu was founded by the Government of India in 2009. It is accredited by NAAC B++. The University has been ranked 89 in the University category and placed in the rank band of 101-150 in the overall category by NIRF 2023.
The university offers various UG, PG and doctoral programs in the Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Law, Library Science, etc. Admission to the courses is purely on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
