Course Description

IIT BHU (Varanasi) offers 2-year MPharm full-time courses. IIT BHU MPharma has 4 sub-departments in MPharm and the course is divided into 4 semesters. Students who want to pursue an MPharm course must qualify for the GPAT exam. The IIT BHU MPharm admission form will be open only to GPAT-2024 qualified candidates for one week from the date of declaration of result of GPAT-2024. The total fee for MPharm courses at IIT BHU (2-year) for general/OBC students is INR 79,015. Students must register themselves on the official website of the IIT BHU for the interview/counseling process for admission.

IIT BHU MPharm Highlights

IIT BHU has 4 departments in MPharm course viz. Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy.
Students who want to enroll for the full-time regular category, must either qualify for the GPAT exam or may be selected for the MPharm program based on their interview or counseling or based on any combination of these as declared by the individual department/school.
Students who have cleared the GPAT examination will be eligible for a paid assistantship, and they will be paid INR 37,000 per month.
There are a total of 49 seats available for the MPharm program at IIT BHU for the admission year 2024-25.

IIT BHU MPharm Eligibility & Selection Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the IIT BHU MPharm program include the following minimum criteria,

The applicant must have a BPharm or an equivalent degree in Pharmacy with at least 60% marks or a 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
A Relaxation of 5% marks is given to candidates belonging to the SC/ST category.
Additionally, the candidate must qualify for the GPAT exam and have a valid scorecard.
Candidates who have graduated from premier institutions such as IITs, or any centrally funded institutions are exempted from GPAT examination.

Although some candidates are exempted from the GPAT examination, the further process of admission is common for all applicants.

Applicants must visit the official website of IIT BHU Admission and fill out all the required details.
After that pay the application fee as asked by the institute.
The shortlisted candidates will be then asked to come for the personal interview and written test ( if applicable).
The final selection is based on the overall profile and performance of the candidates in GPAT and personal interviews.
