Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or Architecture from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.
Valid scores secured in the GATE/CEED 2024 exam are required in order to be eligible for admission.
There are no restrictions on the candidate's age or the number of CEED attempts.
Those who qualify for the IIT Kanpur M.Des cutoff are shortlisted for the written test or PI round.

(i) A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (4-year programme), Design or Architecture with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum. Candidates holding degrees in Fine Arts or Interior Design are not eligible to apply.

(ii) A valid GATE/CEED score is required for admission to the M.Des programme in the case of regular (non-sponsored) candidates. The requirement of GATE score is waived off for the candidates with B.Tech Graduates from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B Tech.
