Honest review by a First year student

What I Liked

Faculties are very supportive and highly educated. The teaching atmosphere is great.
The infrastructure of the temporary campus is pretty good. The permanent campus is expected to be completed by mid - July of this year.

What I didn’t like

A few teachers are not able to control the class. Temporary faculty is hired for humanities courses.
The lack of permanent campus leads to problems with conduction of events. Our events are conducted in Kalyani University Auditorium.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility as given by the company. Highest package is 44LPA. Average is around 12 LPA. Around 90 percent of students get placed. I plan to apply for placements, mainly off-campus. The support from the college towards placements is good.

Remarks:

Good aspects :- Good environment. Professors are great and supportive. Presence of other colleges in the vicinity. Close to Kolkata. Bad aspects:- Lack of permanent campus. Quality of students is not good. No such extra rounds. Just JEE marks.

Only opt for this college if you want the iiit tag and good placement

What I Liked

I liked the seniors here, they are very sweet and caring.
I liked the seniors here, they are v Faculty is also humble and down to earth

What I didn’t like

No permanent campus, even after coming here everyone is saying campus will not be allotted for now
No permanent campus, The hostel facilities are not well managed.

Placement Experience:

There are campus drives being conducted where companies recruits. I don't have any idea of what companies will visit yet as the drive in our college hasn't started yet . Last year the amount of student placed on campus was around 50 percent. My plans after getting degree is to try off campus placement. Highest package was around 30 lpa and average was around 12 lpa.

Remarks:

Kalyani is a great city to live in. I took jee main examination and I got these colleges based on my rank although I hoped for better ones.The facilities here are very poor everything is so scattered. No permanent campus, even after coming here everyone is saying campus will not be allotted for now The hostel facilities are not well managed.

IIIT Kalyani: A Good College to enroll in

What I Liked

IIIT Kalyani is situated in a good place, where people can get access to transport easily.
The Faculties are well knowledgeable people. Almost every faculty have completed their PhD from IITs or NITs.

Placement Experience:

The placement percentage is increasing every year. Currently about 90% of the students have been placed. The highest salary is around 44LPA (on campus placement). Many good companies are hiring from the college , like Goldman Sachs, Jio, Capgemini, Deloitte, etc.

Remarks:

IIIT Kalyani is an institution of national importance and has a good placement record for the past few years. Students can get this college by giving the JEE exam. The cutoff ranges around 20000 to 40000 for general category students.

IIIT Kalyani - choose at your own risk.

What I Liked

New college campus which is in making is quite impressive. Good infrastructure with a really good greenery and suitable environment. But we haven’t got it yet so need to wait for it for don’t know how long.

What I didn’t like

I already said we don’t have our own campus. So it’s quite boring to have a webel it park building as our campus that too only 3 floors, with both Cse and ece department students. It feels like still in coaching and preparing for mains.

Placement Experience:

Placements when I got admitted (2022) were really impressive as it was 100% placement ratio back then. It’s quite good as of now as well. But colleges TnP really need to work a lot for the betterment of students.

Remarks:

This college offered BTech in computer science and was then one of best college as per my percentile and nearby my Homestate so I chose this college. It had 100% placement ratio back then, which attracted me to get admitted here

SAYANs Review of IIIT KALYANI

What I Liked

college infrastructure is good, faculties are good and friendly.

What I didn’t like

Food quality will be better, we want permanent campus.

Placement Experience:

For placement you must have CGPA greater than 8.0 . Our college provides both on and off campus placements, 46lakh/yr is our highest placement package. Companies like Amazon , Wipro, microsoft come to take engineers from our college.

Remarks:

Good teaching faculties, various events for education , sports , cultural things. Well rated placement and internship. Also the students from my college got the 1st position in Smart India Hackathon 2022.

What I Liked

well maintained AC rooms and there curriculum.
coding culture is really nice and there are several club u can explore yourself there.

What I didn’t like

gender ratio of our college is so bad out of 148 student in our batch only 6 girls are there .
we dont have permanent campus right now its under construction .

Placement Experience:

placement is not that good for 2023 batch there were 89 % student placed with average package of 13 lakh per annum and u will get intership offer too just be good with senior they will help u our from all this .

Remarks:

no there is nothing like that actually I want IIT and nit but my score is not that much good and IIIT is also best for engineering here coding culture is really amazing and definitely u will going to explore here that's why i selected this college.

IIIT Kalyani a so to say great college

What I Liked

Is day or professor Dr. Amit Ranjan Azad sir is really good. The 2023 batch seniors are really helpful to though our junior batch is a bunch of brats .
Permanent campus is not provided yet . The temporary campus is fine but no support facility is promised.

What I didn’t like

Campus life is dead so to say there isn't any campus, the hostel they provide is not good
Faculty is really not helpful. Spoon-feeding is a different thing and not being helpful at all is another.

Placement Experience:

Placement is fine like the average is okay. Fair enough it's probably like 12 lakhs ctc. I hope the placement officers will be alloted soon and we can hope for something better. The off-campus placement is what keeps our seniors encouraging but the on-campus placement is mid.

Remarks:

The placement percentage and the course I got made me choose this degree. The overall degree value is good and some of the professors are good, some is what I meant, overall my college experience is fine not too good not too bad, no campus yet but it is a soon to be thing they said, probably will be there till July 2026 ( writing this in 2024 )

From campus Life to Academics-A deep dive into IIIT KALYANI

What I Liked

What I like the most about this college is friendly behaviour of faculty and seniors ,if you want genuine guidance ,they will provide it.
Also there no as such attendance pressure, few faculty members want a good attendance but most of them don't care about attendance.

What I didn’t like

The campus life is total zero ,for enjoyment you will have to go out of hostel may be go to Kolkata which is very beautiful city . But not as such good infrastructure is present in campus.
One thing I don't like is the hostel is around 4-5 km away from college. So you have to do up and down journey by college bus, sometime if you miss it , you will have to get some mode of public transport. So better buy a cycle.

Placement Experience:

There are no such eligibility criteria for placement but you better have 8 pointers. Companies like JIO, Samsung, TCS, Wipro, amazon, and adobe have visited our college and offered a good package. The highest package was around 26 LPA in 2023 and the average was around 12 LPA. Around 89 percent of students got placed. I am also aiming for a good placement at the college.

Remarks:

I prepared for JEE-MAINS in my 11th and 12th. My performance was not according to my expectations and I got around 95 percentile in 2022 JEE-MAINS. I went through JOSAA and CSAB counseling, these things were new to me but I got caught in these things with time. After matching cutoffs of different colleges, I made the list of best colleges I was getting at my rank. In the CSAB round, I got the IIIT-KALYANI ECE branch, and I was happy. In 2022, the cut-off for ECE was 55,000 ranking for the general category. There was no female category till 2023 but it was introduced in 2024 and a branch changing facility has also been introduced in 2024. For admission, one has to go through the college website after getting the college in JOSAA or CSAB. They publish the required documents to be submitted, which can be done offline or online. A good aspect of the college is seniors are very helpful as well as faculties. Most of the professors don't care about attendance. The bad aspect is college is running on a temporary campus.

What I Liked

The hostel.is situated near railway station which is good sign fir student.
The lab facilities is good and teachers behaviour with the student.

What I didn’t like

The mess good is not good and they do not maintain proper heigen.
The hostel and bus facility provide by the college is not good and clearness in hostel.

Placement Experience:

The placement and job opportunities is good and increases year by year.teh highest package in this year is almost 47 lpa and average package is around 13 lpa.there are almost 80 percent student get placed in this year.my plan after getting the degree is go for higher Studies .

Remarks:

There are many reasons to choose this college because it is a iiit college and it's placement records are increases year by year .there are no gd/pi to take admission in this college you must be participate in josaa or csab counselling.

Worst decision

What I Liked

Made few good friends. That's it. Faculty was good
Classes are light, no 75% attendance hard rule

What I didn’t like

No campus life due to absence of permanent campus
Very poor placement stats for 2024 batch

Placement Experience:

Till 2022 placement stats was good but as soon as recession hits, it affected for 2023 batch and in 2024 It affected the most. Still 70% of the students are not placed yet. Companies are not coming which used to be our regular recruiter

Remarks:

College rank was good back in 2020. Placements were and also it was in neighbouring state. So I choose this college.. For taking admission into this college I had go through jee main examination which is being conducted every year
