BTech Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Applicants need Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in Class 12. Selection depends on the JEE Main score and the JoSAA or CSAB counselling process.

NIT AP BTech Application and Counselling Process

Students seeking BTech admission must first apply for and take JEE Main. The application steps are:

• Open the official JEE Main website.
• Create an account for the online application.
• Save the application number generated by the system.
• Set a password.
• Sign in again and complete the form.
• Upload scanned copies of the photograph and signature.
• Pay INR 650, or INR 325 for reserved categories, using a debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI or Paytm.
• Print the completed application form and keep it for later use.

After JEE Main, applicants must participate in JoSAA counselling, which is conducted in 6 rounds.

• Go to josaa.nic.in and sign up with the JEE Main application number and password.
• Choose the preferred course and arrange the choices through the drop-down menu.
• JoSAA completes 6 counselling rounds according to JEE Main ranks.
• Confirm the allotted seat by paying the fee and submitting the required documents.

Children of Indian Parents Residing in Gulf Countries must use DASA counselling for admission.

Eligible MTech applicants must register for GATE by following these steps:

MS (by Research) Eligibility and Selection Criteria

2. The applicant must work full time in a reputed research organisation, academic institution or industry and have at least 2 years of work experience.

NIT AP provides PhD study in eight fields. A full-time PhD lasts 3-8 years, while a part-time PhD requires 4-10 years. Total tuition fees are INR 75,000.

PhD Eligibility and Selection Criteria

PhD applicants must meet the academic requirement and complete the institute's selection stages. Students with specified national-level qualifications do not need to take the written test.

1. A master's degree in the relevant field and discipline is required.
2. The master's degree must carry at least 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA in aggregate.
3. Final selection is based on a written test and personal interview conducted by the institute.
4. Applicants who have qualified GATE, NET or another national-level examination are exempt from the written test.

Documents Needed for the PhD Application

The PhD application must be supported by these documents:

1. SSC or Class 10 certificate as proof of date of birth.
2. Intermediate, 10+2 or Class 12 certificate.
3. Provisional certificate or original degree certificates and marks memos for the qualifying examinations.
4. For GEN-EWS applicants, an EWS certificate issued on or after 01 April 2024.
5. Caste certificate for SC or ST applicants.
