ARSD College Admission Process
Every undergraduate seat at ARSD College is allotted through the DU Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Students cannot apply directly to the college, and ARSD does not conduct a separate college entrance test. UG admission has three stages.
Stage 1, CUET UG: Students first register for the CUET UG examination conducted by NTA and take the subjects required for their chosen course. CUET UG scores are accepted for BA Hons, B.Com Hons, B.Sc Hons, and every B.Sc (Physical Sciences) stream at ARSD.
Stage 2, DU CSAS Registration: Once the CUET UG result is available, students must register through the DU CSAS portal. They then arrange their preferred college and course combinations in order. Both ARSD College and the intended programme must appear on this list.
Stage 3, Merit-based Allotment: Delhi University assigns seats in several rounds using scores from the required CUET subject combination. A student who receives an allotment must accept the seat through CSAS and pay the admission fee before the stated deadline.
For the 2026-27 session, General Category closing scores were 846 for B.Com Hons, 695 for B.Sc Hons Computer Science, and 666 for B.Sc Hons Mathematics. Depending on the humanities subject, BA Hons closing scores fell between 697 and 789.
A pass in Class 12 from a recognised board is required for all UG programmes. MA and M.Com admission is based on CUET PG, which is a separate NTA examination conducted after the CUET UG results.
ARSD College Placements
According to NIRF Placement 2025, ARSD College graduates received a median salary of INR 6 LPA. Since the college mainly teaches undergraduate liberal arts and science courses, career outcomes differ across streams instead of following one common placement pattern.
Students from the Commerce stream, including B.Com and B.Com Hons, often prepare for CA, Company Secretary, or MBA entrance examinations for IIMs and other business schools. Others take up banking and financial services jobs. Their usual starting salary range is INR 4 LPA to INR 12 LPA, depending on any professional qualification completed with the degree.
Many Humanities stream graduates from BA Hons Economics, Political Science, and History prepare for the UPSC Civil Services or state PSC examinations. A large share also moves into MA and economics courses at Delhi School of Economics and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Graduates from the Science and Technology stream, including B.Sc Hons Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics, either join IT services and product companies or seek M.Sc admission and research fellowships through IIT JAM and JEST. Starting roles for the B.Sc Computer Science group usually pay between INR 6 LPA and INR 12 LPA.
Rajkummar Rao, who received the National Film Award for Best Actor, is a notable ARSD alumnus. He completed the BA Programme at the college before attending the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
ARSD College Rankings
ARSD College holds a place among India's 10 highest-ranked colleges in the NIRF Colleges 2025 list. It is one of six Delhi University colleges in that top group and shares this leading tier with Hans Raj College and Kirori Mal College.
| Ranking Body | Category | Year | Rank / Grade |
| NIRF | Colleges | 2025 | 7 |
| NAAC | Accreditation | Current Cycle | A++ (CGPA 3.77) |
The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, granted ARSD the DBT Star College Scheme designation. It recognises the college's investment in undergraduate science research facilities and faculty quality. Only a small number of Indian colleges with demonstrated strength in basic science teaching and undergraduate research output hold this designation.
ARSD College Campus and Infrastructure
ARSD College occupies 12.3 acres in Dhaula Kuan, South-West Delhi, near National Highway 48. Dhaula Kuan metro station on the Airport Express Line is the closest transit point, providing connections to other parts of Delhi and Gurgaon.
Students have access to the following campus facilities:
- 60 classrooms used for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- 17 research laboratories for advanced experiments at the undergraduate level
- 17 departmental computer and science labs
- 3 seminar halls with ICT facilities
- A 500-seat auditorium
- A cricket ground and basketball court
- A central library containing books, journals, and digital resources for the Arts, Commerce, and Science departments
The college has no residential hostel. Students generally arrange rooms in private paying-guest facilities located within 500 metres of the campus. Total enrolment is 3,753, comprising 3,586 undergraduate and 167 postgraduate students.
ARSD College vs Hans Raj College vs Kirori Mal College
ARSD College, Hans Raj College, and Kirori Mal College are co-educational constituent colleges of Delhi University that attract many of the same CUET UG applicants. Each institution is listed among the top 10 in NIRF Colleges 2025, and all undergraduate seats are allotted through DU CSAS.
| Parameter | ARSD College | Hans Raj College | Kirori Mal College |
| Established | 1959 | 1948 | 1954 |
| NIRF Colleges 2025 | 7 | 3 | 4 |
| Location | Dhaula Kuan, SW Delhi | Mall Road, N Delhi | North Campus, N Delhi |
| Admission | CUET UG, DU CSAS | CUET UG, DU CSAS | CUET UG, DU CSAS |
Hans Raj College and Kirori Mal College rank above ARSD in NIRF Colleges 2025. Their North Campus locations are convenient for students travelling from Rohini, Pitampura, and Civil Lines. ARSD's Dhaula Kuan location is more suitable for students coming from South-West Delhi and Gurgaon.
The three colleges follow the same Delhi University curriculum for BA Hons, B.Sc Hons, and B.Com Hons courses. ARSD differs through its dedicated B.Sc Hons Computer Science course and its DBT Star College designation for science research. Students should check course-specific CUET closing scores on the DU CSAS portal while comparing these colleges because a difference in overall NIRF position does not always mean an equal difference in admission difficulty for a particular programme.
