MVJCE Courses and Fees

MVJCE offers 17 B.E. branches under VTU affiliation. As an autonomous college, it follows VTU framework guidelines while preparing its own syllabus and examination pattern. This helps the college add industry-linked electives and newer technology courses. Aerospace Engineering is one of its distinctive B.E. options among mid-tier engineering colleges in Bangalore.

KCET seats and COMEDK or management-quota seats have different fee levels. KCET-quota fees are set by the Karnataka government and are much lower, while COMEDK and management seats are self-financed. Students should confirm branch-wise fees with the MVJCE admission office during admission because fees may change before the session begins. The full programme fee is INR 1.51 Lakhs for M.Tech and INR 1.28 Lakhs for MBA.

MVJCE Admission Process

B.E. admission at MVJCE is handled through centralised counselling. KCET seats are filled by KEA, while COMEDK seats are filled through COMEDK counselling. The college does not hold a separate entrance test for B.E. Direct admission to the 3rd year through lateral entry is based on DCET conducted by KEA.

B.E. Eligibility

• Students must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
• A minimum 45% aggregate in PCM is required, while SC/ST/OBC candidates under Karnataka reservation norms need 40%
• A valid KCET 2026 rank is needed for Karnataka domicile candidates, and a valid COMEDK UGET 2026 rank is needed for all-India admission
• JEE Main scores are accepted for a limited number of management-quota seats through the MVJCE admissions office

M.Tech and MBA Admission

M.Tech seats are allotted through PGCET or GATE scores under VTU centralised counselling. GATE-qualified students with stipend eligibility join through the AICTE-mandated GATE route. MBA applicants need valid CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, or KMAT scores, and applications are handled by the MVJCE admissions office.

MVJCE Cutoffs

MVJCE cutoffs vary by branch, category, entrance exam, and counselling round. CSE usually needs a stronger rank than ECE, Information Science, and core engineering branches.

COMEDK UGET cutoffs are separate from KCET because the applicant pool is national. Confirmed 2026 cutoffs are published by KEA on the official KCET allotment portal after the relevant counselling round.

MVJCE Placements

MVJCE reported a highest package of INR 27.7 LPA in the 2024-25 placement season. CSE had the strongest placement count, with 198 out of 254 eligible students placed. ECE placed 74 out of 154 students, while Information Science placed 66 out of 112. Most offers came from IT and software services companies.

Adobe, Cognizant, Dell, IBM, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro were confirmed recruiters in the 2024-25 cycle. CSE, AI and ML, and Data Science receive the highest number of offers from IT product and services firms because the college is close to the Whitefield IT belt. Mechanical, Civil, and EEE students also see recruiters from manufacturing, construction, and electronics sectors. The Kadugodi and Whitefield location helps students connect with nearby IT parks along with the regular campus placement calendar.

The Training and Placement cell conducts aptitude training, mock interviews, and branch-specific skill bootcamps throughout the year. The Career Development Centre helps B.E. students find internships in semesters 5 and 6 so they can gain industry exposure before final placements.

MVJCE Rankings

MVJCE has ranking entries from the Times of India in the engineering category. The college is not listed in the current NIRF Engineering or Overall rankings. Its NAAC B++ grade and NBA accreditation for selected programmes show that it meets national quality assessment standards.

The NAAC grade of B++ is based on a CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the latest accreditation cycle. Under NAAC's five-tier grading order of A++, A+, A, B++, and B+, this places MVJCE in the second-highest grade band. NBA accreditation applies to specific B.E. programmes and confirms that those programmes meet the National Board of Accreditation's outcome-based quality standards.

MVJCE Scholarships

Students at MVJCE can apply for government-funded scholarship schemes available to AICTE-approved private engineering colleges. Each scheme follows the eligibility rules, application dates, and payment process set by its own authority.

For state schemes, students apply through the Karnataka government portal. NSP applications are submitted through scholarships.gov.in, while AICTE Pragati and Saksham applications are filed on the AICTE India portal. MVJCE's scholarship facilitation cell helps enrolled students with documents and deadline tracking.

MVJCE Campus and Infrastructure

MVJCE has a 15-acre campus in Kadugodi, East Bangalore, close to the Whitefield IT cluster. The campus includes separate academic blocks for departments, a central library with over 60,000 books and 60+ subscribed journals, and an e-library that gives access to major engineering and science research databases.

The college has 1,200+ computer systems across departmental labs and a central network supported by a 2 Gbps campus-wide Wi-Fi backbone. Students can use labs outside teaching hours for project work and certification preparation. MVJCE also has 8 VTU-recognised research centres and supports funded industry-collaborative research projects in different disciplines.

Sports facilities include a 200-metre athletics track, basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts, and cricket practice nets. A 3,500 sq ft fitness centre is available for students and staff. The campus also has multiple canteens and a medical centre with a doctor on call. Subsidised buses connect MVJCE with major transit points in Bangalore for day scholars.

Separate hostels are provided for male and female students. Hostel rooms come with Wi-Fi access, 24-hour security, and warden supervision. The Kadugodi location is close to Whitefield Main Road, Kadugodi Bus Stand, and the Purple Line Metro corridor, which helps both hostel students and daily commuters.

MVJCE vs NHCE vs NMIT

Students considering MVJCE through KCET or COMEDK often compare it with New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE), Marathahalli, and Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Yelahanka. All three are autonomous private engineering colleges affiliated with VTU in Bangalore, and they have similar B.E. programme options and KCET rank ranges.

NHCE and NMIT have NAAC A grades, while MVJCE has NAAC B++. This may matter to students who give high priority to accreditation level. MVJCE has been running since 1982, compared with 2001 for NHCE and NMIT, which gives it a longer institutional history and a wider alumni base. MVJCE at Kadugodi and NHCE at Marathahalli are both in the Whitefield-side technology belt of east Bangalore. NMIT, located in Yelahanka, may suit students from north Bangalore better. All three colleges accept KCET and COMEDK for B.E. admission and offer comparable CSE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering programmes under VTU.
