SRKR B.Tech Admission 2026

The four-year B.Tech programme is available in 12 specialisations. These include Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Mechanical Engineering. Individual branches have an intake ranging from 60 to 360 seats. Diploma holders may also enter the second year through B.Tech lateral entry.

AP EAPCET is the basis for regular B.Tech selection. This state-level online entrance examination is regulated by JNTUK on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Applicants must also meet the prescribed academic requirements before they can receive a seat through state-level counselling.

Students in the final year of a Diploma in Engineering may also apply. Selection depends on performance in AP EAPCET conducted by JNTUK. Admission also requires the minimum aggregate prescribed by the university in PCM or PCB at the HSC or equivalent level.

Admission process: Only AP EAPCET scores are accepted for regular B.Tech admission. Final selection takes place through counselling and document verification. Students applying for lateral entry after a three-year engineering diploma compete for second-year seats through AP ECET ranks.

Regular B.Tech seats are divided into Category A and Category B. AP EAPCET ranks determine Category A allotments. Category B covers both NRI and non-NRI applicants.

SRKR Admission 2026 FAQs

Ques. Is a Mechanical Engineering seat at SRKR possible with an AP EAPCET rank of 17400 during second-phase counselling?

Ans. A student with this rank may have a good chance of receiving a seat. SRKR is a private college and generally admits a large number of students. It should be placed among the preferred options in the first counselling phase. If no seat is allotted then, the student can select it again in the second phase because many higher-ranked applicants move to IITs, NITs and deemed universities. Other private autonomous options include MVGR in Vijayanagaram, ANITS in Visakhapatnam, GMR and Gayatri Vidya Parishad.

Ques. What differences have students noted between SRKREC and ANITS for teaching and campus academics?

Ans. ANITS began operating in the 2000s, is affiliated with Andhra University and now has autonomous status. It has been placed second among private colleges in Andhra Pradesh and is recognised for experienced teachers and strong placements, including 424 placements reported by 2016. Its academic setting is considered good, though industrial visits, festivals and annual programmes receive less attention.

SRKR is the older institution and has a particular reputation for Civil Engineering. Many long-serving teachers have retired, so different branches frequently receive new faculty members. Based on this comparison, ANITS is considered the stronger choice.

Ques. Can engineering diploma holders join B.Tech directly in the second year at SRKR?

Ans. Yes. Candidates who have completed a three-year engineering diploma can seek lateral entry into the second year of an SRKR B.Tech programme through AP ECET.
