I got into this college through my CET score in Cap rounds and students can also get into this college through spot and institutional rounds. Goods aspects about my college are It is one of the most affordable engineering college of Maharastra. This college's placement records are better than most of colleges in Nagpur. Bad aspects about my college are : 1) College campus is small and 2) Some teaching faculties are not so good.

Several mass recruiters come to the college with an offer of 3-3.5 Lpa. L&T made offers to Civil, Mech, and EE students of around 6.5 Lpa. Most of them got placed there, The Highest package this year was 20 Lpa which was off campus. The percentage of students getting placed is around 50%. After my degree, I'm planning to join the defence forces.
I did not know much about the college while taking admission. But the college being government has a good repute. And one reason of me taking this college is it's very near to my place. The college has a very affordable fee structure. To gain admission here you need a good MHTCET Score. Cutoffs depend on the branch you select. For CSE- 96+, ETC- 93+, EE- 86+ , ME- 83+, CE- 80+ percentile is required to secure admission.
Read Full ReviewYes, the college does provide placements. But this year's placements are not so good as compared to last year. Many students haven't been got placed. The average package is 4 lpa and it can be upto 20 lpa.
I chose this college because it's a government college of engineering and it is near to my hometown. To get selected for this college, you must have taken the JEE or MHTCET exam along with a good 12th score.
Read Full ReviewPlacement opportunities are also below average although the past batch got decent placements this year due to the recession placement rate is almost negligible out of 78 students only 8 got placed in the electronics and telecommunication department although the placement ratio in the computer science engineering is quite decent
I took my MHT-CET exam this college was a government entity and I was getting a seat here according to my percentile. And another major factor was the fees it's only twenty-seven thousand a year so it's quite low that's why I chose this college
Read Full ReviewThe college has a Placement Cell which always attracts various companies to the campus. However, the placement is good enough with the average package of 6 LPA and the highest being 21 LPA. The placement for the electrical branch is more than any other branch.
The college provides degrees in 5 major branches; civil, electrical, mechanical, electronics and telecommunication, and computer science. For admission, your MHTCET scores will be considered. The cutoff for admission is high every year. The institute also offers a master's in structural engineering. The teaching period of every semester is 3-4 months, after that, you will have to appear for semester exams.
Read Full ReviewThe factor that impresses me the most is the fee structure of GCOEN. For the General category, the fee is approx INR 25000 and for other categories, it is INR 12000. You also have to pay an additional INR 2500 as exam fees (to the university) per semester. I am an OBC category student so I end up spending INR 17000 as fees annually and I get around INR 4000 back into my bank account as a scholarship. The fee structure is value for money for the engineering they provide. Yes, it is under development concerning infrastructure but it is improving at a great pace. Laboratories are being set up. Could engineering be more affordable in comparison with other regional colleges? No! The mode of payment accepted by the college is strictly POS, UPI, or online payment via the college website to promote the cashless scheme. The money we pay is backed by receipts making the process transparent and letting us analyze the fee breakdown. No hidden charges in any of the departments at GCOEN.
The admission process is strictly according to the merit list and Central Allotment process (CAP) where you are allotted the college according to your merit number or rank by your marks, category, and preferences. If you freeze a seat at the institute, you have to visit the institute or ARC, pay your fees in advance within the given time frame, and confirm your seat. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your allotted seat. Also, a list of documents is given to you on the official CAP site, which shall be produced at the time of admission. After verification of these documents by a scrutiny team, you get admission. (NO CASH payments allowed in the campus). No management or other similar quotas for admission. Many factors aid in choosing GCOEN as an institute to pursue a career in Engineering like the economical fee structure (around INR 12000 per year for non-general categories), the location (Nagpur city), the presence of budding MIHAN
