IIIT Sonepat admits students to its B.Tech and Ph.D programmes through entrance-based selection. B.Tech is the flagship course, with an annual fee of INR 2.24 Lakhs, while the full-time Ph.D programme costs INR 1.03 Lakh per year.

IIIT Sonepat B.Tech Admission 2026

The four-year B.Tech programme has Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, and AI & Data Science options. The institute has a total B.Tech intake of 240 seats.

IIIT Sonepat B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must pass the 10+2 examination from a recognised board or university with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
They need at least 75% aggregate marks to submit an application.
Qualifying for JEE Main is also compulsory.

IIIT Sonepat B.Tech Selection Process

Students must first take the JEE Main examination.
Those who qualify can register for JoSAA counselling using their JEE Main details.
Seat allocation is based on the All India Rank secured in JEE Main.
JoSAA announces the registration and choice-filling schedule.
During choice filling, applicants can select IIIT Sonepat from the Indian Institute of Information Technology category in the participating institutes list.
JoSAA publishes the seat allocation result online after each round.
A selected student must pay the registration fee to accept the IIIT Sonepat seat.
Officials at the JoSAA Reporting Center issue the seat acceptance letter.
The student must report to the campus on the specified date for document verification and payment of the admission fee.

General Category applicants need a rank within 30000 for selection. The B.Tech CSE closing rank in 2025 was 30331.

Ph.D research is available in Computer & Science Engineering, AI, and the Mathematics department. These programmes are offered in full-time mode. Admission takes place twice each year, mainly for the odd and even semesters.

IIIT Sonepat Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

An applicant with an M.Tech or M.E in a relevant subject, or an MCA or M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, must have at least 60% marks or a 6 CPI.
A student holding a B.E, B.Tech, or BS degree is eligible with 80% marks or an 8.0 CPI.

IIIT Sonepat Ph.D Selection Process

Applicants normally take a written examination and then attend a personal interview.
Preference is given to students with a valid GATE, CSIR, UGC-NET, UGC-JRF, or other accepted national-level score such as INSPIRE.
The institute prepares the final merit list using performance in the written examination and interview.

The General Category JEE Main cutoff for 2025 is available for five JoSAA rounds. For B.Tech CSE, the closing rank moved from 27194 in Round 1 to 30331 in Round 5. Data Analytics and CSE recorded the highest cutoffs.

How to Apply to IIIT Sonepat?

B.Tech applications are completed through the counselling process. Students should follow these steps:

Open the official JoSAA website and select the registration option.
Register with the JEE Main roll number and password.
JEE Main qualified applicants can sign in with the related password.
Check the displayed details, including nationality, state code of eligibility, gender, and other personal information, before confirming them.
Add IIIT Sonepat while filling in counselling choices.
Wait for selection based on the applicable JEE Main cutoff.
After a seat is assigned, download the provisional allotment letter.
Pay the initial fee to confirm acceptance of the allotted seat.

Ques. What is the admission route for IIIT Sonepat courses?

Ans. IIIT Sonepat offers B.Tech and Ph.D programmes. For B.Tech, students must meet the 10+2 requirements and secure a valid JEE Main rank. Honest Review of IIIT Sonepat

What I Liked

I like the faculty and friends that i make in the college.

What I didn’t like

I don't like the college infrastructure . I mean my college have not its permanent campus till now.

Remarks:

For the admission i cleared the JEE Mains entrance exam and then in CSAB councelling i got the IIIT Sonepat. Basically this college is at a very esteemed location near IT hub Delhi,Noida & Gurgaon and also it it a IIIT college that's why i choosed it.

Remarks:

picked IIIT Sonepat because of its focus on tech, coding culture, and decent placements. It’s also part of the IIIT ecosystem, which means good faculty and industry exposure. Plus, it’s in Haryana, close to Delhi, which has great internship and job opportunities. Admission Process Entrance Exam: Admission is purely based on JEE Main rank (no interviews, GDs, or extra tests). Cut-off: It varies yearly but is competitive—top JEE Main scorers get in. Counseling: Done through JoSAA & CSAB. No direct admissions.

IIIT Sonipat An Honest Review

What I Liked

The attendance criteria not being strict
The warden of hostel and college guards are pretty chill

What I didn’t like

There is no infrastructure like we attend classes in some other college campus
the sports facilities are nothing like expected

Remarks:

NO there wasnt any gd for entering the college however i had to clear JEE MAINS and jossa counselling then its just some basic paperwork that is to be done on the admission day offline only, i chose the college because its closer to my home.

Remarks:

This is a central government college and the placement of this institute good enough so I choose. If you want to get admission in this college then you have to appear in jee mains exam and after that you have to apply for josaa counseling.

An Honest Opinion About IIIT Sonepat

What I Liked

Faculty , We have very educated and experienced faculties with excellent background.
Agnito : This is the sports fest conducted every year.

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure : As we do not have our own campus.
Internship : less companies visit for internship which should be improved.

Remarks:

My institution is an institute of national importance. One bad thing about the college is it doesn't have its permanent campus but they are building it right now and the contract must be completed within 2 years. Admission process: You have to clear the IIT JEE MAIN exam conducted by NTA and the cutoff varies according to the year, during my time I got around 20k rank and got an IT branch. You need to prepare PCM for JEE Main. Refer to some PYQs for reference.

Review of IIIT Sonepat

What I Liked

The faculty here is very helpful and friendly
The classrooms are containing A.C and projectors for proper explaining of topics.

What I didn’t like

The college does not have a permanent campus despite of 14 years of working of the college.
The hostel is a bit over rated. The fees of the hostel could be lesser.

Remarks:

This college has an up-to-date syllabus and the faculty is good. Some professors are the professors of NIT Delhi. There is yet no permanent campus. The temporary campus is SBIT College which has a good ambience. For admission to this college, the candidate should have cleared JEE Mains and registered in JOSAA counselling and wait for them to allocate a seat. For foreign candidates, DASA is the concerned counsellor. For admission to this college with the CSE branch the cut-off for general is around 30k and for the IT branch, it is 38K.

My college is the best

What I Liked

The thing I like about some faculty is that they are approachable.
Campus life positive is that the students or batchmates are a nice crowd and the culture of the College is pretty light.

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure is borrowed for now from a shut down college . So it is bad and the facilities are not to be proud of.
The hostel is a big negative for me as the fees is too high and the food is as hostelry as it gets.

Remarks:

The main factor that was the deciding factor as well as the reputation of the IT name and also the average package was quite well .As for the average, the infrastructure is non-existent for now and the College seems empty of sorts as the student intake is very less.

What I Liked

Best thing here is seniors are supportive
The placement cell here is very good and healthy

What I didn’t like

The worst thing about cllg is uts campus is temporary
The social life here sucks not.many events happen here

The college is nearby delhi and thus making good opportunity for students to roam around delhi and have fun plus the placement cell of cllg is also pretty decent enabling students to getting decent package

What I Liked

College infrastructure is bad it's campus is very small ..
Campus life is worst no fests are conducted..

Infrastructure is not good its small and bad..
Faculties are worst except one or two which are good..

Because it's a government college that's why i chose this college, and the package mentioned on college website is just much better than any other college on my list, this things made me to choose this college..
