GMAT exam pattern contains 64 questions and is divided into three sections. The candidate's English abilities and academic knowledge are examined by verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and data insights sections. GMAC, the conducting body of the exam, has updated the syllabus of GMAT. From 1st February 2024, GMAT Focus Edition started testing. GMAT is accepted by more than 7,700 programs at over 2,400 business schools worldwide. Candidates who take the exam in the old GMAT exam pattern, their scores are still valid for 5 years. The total time allotted for the new GMAT Focus Edition is 2 hours 15 minutes, previously it was 3 hours 7 minutes. GMAT new pattern is more focused on examining the candidate's ability to real-world business scenarios.
GMAT exam syllabus scoring pattern has also changed, now the candidates are scored on a scale of 205-805 scale. Preparing for the new GMAT exam pattern includes taking coaching classes, and reading updated books. A new data insights section has been added to GMAT exam syllabus and the analytical writing and integrated reasoning section has been removed.
