At the time of WBJEE counselling, while researching about colleges this college came upon me and started reviewing the colleges based on other's opinions both online and onsite. As far as i could gather the intel about the college it was clear that it was not one of a kind college in West Bengal like the previous records of IEM and HIT, but better than average of what I could get at my rank. At 28K rank I was getting CSE in AIML but chose CSBS over that due to TCS and as per the other colleges there was no chance of getting into HIT, IEM, Techno main Salt Lake therefore the most safe bet was this. And along with that I believe that NSEC is not that far behind those colleges in terms of average placement but definitely far behind the peak placements.
The curriculum is the same as suggested by the university MAKAUT, i.e. not relevant to the actual use case but rather useless stuff like Chemistry, Workshop and more. In CSBS stream the language C is in 2nd Semester and since i am in 1st Semester I can't comment on that but as far as I know that, that's the place from where the real journey begins. As for the faculties, till now our HOD is the only one with the worst reputation all over the campus but don't worry he is not related with CSBS so he won't be there from 2nd year. Other than that all the teachers are not that bad and pretty helpful as a teacher should be with one exception of our Maths teacher and yes some will be strict and some will be lenient but as a word of caution get ready to write a lot of practical's right from the 1st week.
As far as my knowledge, NSEC comes under Techno group of colleges and therefore there is pull campusing regarding the placements. With obviously preferring Techno main at the event, NSEC is not that far behind in number of placed students in mass recruiting companies.

You can't expect a good campus life at any college in West Bengal. But here specially "not" just like IEM. Yes, there is a dress code of college but its not mandate for anyone. The infrastructure itself is small (in my opinion) but obviously better than IEM, the rooms are pretty big (with capacity of around 80) with several of them being air conditioned. Library is pretty small but fear not about the quantities of the book there are plenty of them for everyone (semester books). This is college is no doubt but one of the best in regarding the matter of extracurricular activities. The seniors are pretty helpful with no sign of any ragging (on campus) till now and rather indulging in extra and helpful things with juniors. The seniors are always active in the group chat with being tons of different clubs to join in with Phoenix being the largest club in the college who also host the annual function Avenir. This is not the only end, they even hosts sports related events regularly.
There is no availability of hostels in the college, rather you need to find your own PG or Hostels nearby or may even rent a room for your personal use only. In my case I am residing solo with 5500/- per month for one room (for food related you need to find your way that is not included) near the Garia station.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
