Remarks :
Good aspects- Good culture of different technical events. Seniors and professors are supportive. Placement ratio is good. Natural beauty is good. Fees is less. Good alumni network. Bad aspects - Hostel facilities could have been more good. Professor may teach in local languages. May not get NOC from college for internship in final semester. Admission process - Give WBJEE and get a decent rank to get admitted in the college. For IT branch you to be under 5000 Rank. To get admission in the college at last seat at general rank should be under 10000. You have to apply through WEBJEE counseling in this college. There are 2 seats for defence quota students also. One seat is in IT branch and one seat is in mechanical branch. Point to note that these 2 seats are open for all India defence dependants. Hence if you're father is/was in defence services and you are from India you can apply here. You have to apply through Zila/Rajya sainik board of Kolkata by email to get listed on these seats.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose IT course because the placement is good and it is from my area of interest. Faculties are good having good qualification. Method of teaching is not upto the mark but still good to go. Despite medium of teaching in english you might found teachers teaching in bengali language. But if you tell teachers to explain in English they will do it for you. Overall faculties are helpful. Semester exams were taken timely and difficulty of exam was moderate to little difficult. You may find some papers easy too. Questions are asked from the area taught or suggested by professors.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes I got internship from Celebal Technologies. It was for backend development role. Opportunities offered from college itself is less. Seniors and peer members help to grow as an individual which will help to grab opportunities. Internship stipend ranges from rs 5000 to rs 1.25 Lakhs, which depends on which kind of company and internship you are in.
Placement Experience :
Placement is decent. Many times eligibility criteria includes that one should not have backlog. Recruiters include TCS, Cognizant, Adani, L & T, WTW, Ericsson, Celebal Technologies, Tata Power, Capgemini etc Number of offers are good. At the end 75-80% student get placed. Average placement is around 6 LPA. Highest package received was from Microsoft that was off famous for 54 LPA. Highest on campus was package was of 12 LPA. I am placed in a technical company.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
1st year - Around rs 32000 2nd year - Around rs 31000 3rd year - Around rs 31000 4th year - Around ?30000 The fees doesn't increase year by year. The tution fees is around ?15000 per semester. Caution fees is around ?3000 and one time, & will be returned after completion of course. Registration fees is rs 5000 which is adjusted with the tution fees afterwards. There are no other type of fees . As I was from enrolled in BTech IT course which is a self funded course hence fees was more in respect to othere courses. The expense for other courses such as CSE, ME, EE, ECE is half of IT course. Like there expense is nearly ?8000 per year. Many scholarships are available - SVCM - ?60000 per year financial aid Oasis scholarship - around ?3000 aid JGEC Alumini scholarship - around ?10000 aid Full fee scholarship (FFS) - full fee exemption for very poor students Half fee scholarship (HFS) - half fee exemption for poor students. SVCM and Alumni scholarship are both merit cum need basis scholarship.
Campus Life :
Campus life is good. There is gym you can use in morning and evening. There are sports ground. Mainly you will find students playing cricket, volleyball, basketball, football and badminton. A normal size library is present. Book availability is decent. There are many clubs in college like Coding club, Dance club, Drama club, Music club, Magazine and writing club, Arts club, Society help clubs, NSS club, Machine and Technology club etc. Many fests are hold every year but 2 best fests are- JECLAT - It's called north bengal biggest fest involving both tech and art. It happens in around April. Srishti - It is one of a big fest involving technology. It happens around August.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel availability is there inside the campus. Rooms are average but you will love it by time. Hostel mess is there which gives both veg and non veg food. Food quality can be improved. One can apply for hostel through college administration only.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
