I had a pretty decent rank around 6000 in wbjee exam that's why I chose this college. It is in the top five colleges you can get through wbjee. You have to go through two rounds of counselling in wbjee. You can also counsel through your jee main rank. There are no group discussions, interviews for admission but you have to score under 7000 rank in the written test wbjee which is similar to jee main.
The course curriculum is set by MAKAUT, everything takes place according to MAKAUT. Most of the faculty has qualified M. Tech or some have even qualified PhDs . The faculty is nice but some of them don't know how to teach and some are always in a bad mood. There are 4 CAs for theory courses and 2 PCAs for practical courses throughout the semester. The CAs and PCAs are not that tough because it is set by the college itself but the final semester exam is pretty tough which is set by MAKAUT.
There are no internship opportunities provided by our college. If you want to do internships you have to do on your own. You will be provided flexibility in attendance and stuff if you are in third or fourth year doing internships. Some of the internships also offer pretty decent stipend and some don't even offer stipend.
Placement start taking place in the end of 3rd year and 4th year. Most of the companies have a criteria of atleast 8 cgpa in exams if you want to sit in their interviews. Companies like Infosys, cognizant, TCS, Capgemini and several other companies including startups visit our college. The highest package was around 40 lpa this year and the average package being 4-5 lpa. Around 60 to 70 percent of students get placed . If you study well you will certainly get placed.
The college fee is around 70,000 per semester so around 1,40,000 per year. There is also registration fee , exam fee for each semester . There is also fee waiver minimising it to nearly half of original fee, for the economically weaker students.
Life is pretty lively in the college. There are severa social clubs which are formed by students and managed by faculties such as sports club, cultural club, literary club , etc. which are introduced during your induction. Most of the groups have their own websites managed by students.Every type of event takes place at least once a year. The cultural club Ankuran organizes the second biggest event in east India which is called Anakhronos . Library is pretty small and has limited books. There are several smart classes. There are also 2 or 3 cafeterias and several stores just outside the college where you can eat during lunch.
There is no hostel in our campus . If you ask the college about hostel facilities, they will send you to a third party or broker through which the college gets some commission. Don't ask the college for hostels, in my personal opinion. Most of the students rent a room or PG somewhere near the college. Some also come from their houses.
Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.
One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies
Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.
I do not have any idea abt hostel i just filled ir because the web is forcing me to and about internship and package theres nothing college gives you come on it’s not engineering college it’s a law college they do not provide much but the basic other things you gotta look out for yourself
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
