Remarks :
No I don't face any tests or interviews at the time of admission. The first thing that helps to choose this college that , at the time of admission college provides data about the good placement numbers which attracts the most. But later on we knew the actual truth. This is kind ok college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
At the time I chose this course on this college, the college provides a good number of placements which attracts the most. Qualification of the faculties are good. But the teaching method is 3 out of 10. They did use projectors , ppts etc. still most of the teachers took too much time to finish a chapter, slow at teaching and after sometimes felt boring on the class. Despite all that , university exams are really tough.
Internships Opportunities :
The don't provide any kind of internship till now. Am here on my 3rd year , 5th sem. Still they don't give us any opportunity about internships neither they encourage us for this kind of things. There are so many things which we have to do by ourselves...
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
At 1st yr - Admission+ 1st sem fees = 85000 + extra 5000 for college dress. 2nd sem fees = 66000 At 2nd yr - Both 3rd and 4th sem fees = 65000 At 3rd yr - Both 5th and 6th sem fees = 66000 At 4th yr - Both 7th and 8th sem fees = 65000 (All these are for general cast students of the year 2022) + Extra curriculum things. All total approx 5.5 to 5.6 lakh for 4 yr course.
Campus Life :
There are several events , clubs like pheonix, lensified etc. Almost all kind of books are available here. Library is pretty good. Fests for each department, happened along all the years. Sports events are also happen here. Like cricket, carrom, kabaddi etc etc

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
