- Most of the students are not regular to college so the class feels very gloomy.
- As most of the students don't come, sometimes some classes are skipped.
Remarks :
There are also other aviation colleges in Kolkata like JT Aviation, Frankfinn Institute etc. But the reason of selecting this college over thr above mentioned colleges is simply because this is the only college in Kolkata which provides the students an opportunity of on ground training for airport operations like practical knowledge of safety equipments, fire fighter trainings, customer handling, Real life handling of emergency situations etc. I had to give a small GK exam then after passing that I got a scholarship of Rs.50000. Not everyone will get this scholarship. Only the firsf comers will get an opportunity of taking the benefit of scholarship.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is designed in such a way that we can get enough time for preparing for the exams as well as for the trainings. The college faculty is very good. The Head Of the Department of Aviation, Mr. Ananda Ganguli Sir, is a veteran in this field. He was the Ex Airport Manager of Amritsar airport. While teaching, he shares a lot of his professional experience with us giving us an estimate of what we will be facing after reaching such position in the future. The syllabus is also not that much hectic.The students just have to go through what is being taught to them during the classes. Nothing comes out of the syllabus. The students just have to be attentive and must abide by the rules & regulations set by the college. So there is nothing much to worry about.
Internships Opportunities :
I haven't opted for any internships. In the aviation sector, there are no internship opportunities. However, in the Hotel & Hospitality sector, numerous big & reputed companies like Taj, ITC, The Oberoi Hotels etc. provide a huge number of internship opportunities for the students with an average stipend of around Rs.6000.
Placement Experience :
After passing the 5th semester exams, the students become eligible for placements and internships. Some of the reputed airline companies who have already visited our college are Air India, Indigo, Air India Express etc. The highest package which a student of our college got is Rs.420000 for the post of cabin crew and the average package is around Rs.200000 for ground operation jobs like security officer, baggage handling, ticketing etc. 80% of the students who studied or are studying get placed in big and reputed companies. After graduation, I want to get into join as an airport ground staff.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In the first year, students have to pay around Rs.170000 In the second year, students have to pay Rs.130000 In the third year, students have to pay Rs.130000 So the total stands at Rs.430000 As there are limited no. of seats so the students who get admitted early get a chance of getting Rs.50000 scholarship by giving a small GK test. Plus if any student gets admitted via referral then also they get a discount of Rs.10000
Campus Life :
Every month there are some fests going on in our college. Recently, on Christmas we had cake mixing ceremony. Other events & festivals like House keeping week, Grooming week, Republic Day celebration, Puja celebrations is celebrated in our college. The college has a very big & spacious library where numerous journals & text books are present. The students can easily avail this by issuing a library card. There are screen projectors in every classroom for better & practical understanding of the concepts that are taught in the classroom. The college has its own fine dining restaurant named 'Sizzle by ISHM' which is run by some of the hotel facilities and the students.
Hostel Facilities :
The college does not provide any hostel facilities. However, there are a huge number of PGs that are easily available near the college like in Karunamayee, TCS Gitobitan, Kestopur, Chingri Ghata. Room rents are around Rs.5000 to Rs.8000

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
