Dislikes
- I hate the thing that beside electrical department others department specially non core students suffer in placements.
- I hate the thing that some teachers are so egoistic.
Remarks :
After Jadavpur this college, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is the best option for core branch. It exceeds the placement of EE in NIT Durgapur. Faculty is also knowledgeable, well qualified, friendly. I think there should be no doubt about the glory, excellence of the college and bright future of the pass out students. This is indeed the best college in North Bengal and 2nd best engineering college in west bengal. I've secured 4811 Genral Merit Rank to get a chance to study in Electrical Engineering Department in this prestigious Autonomous College.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is too organised, there are total two semesters in a year and before semester exams and lab exams theres always conducted internal exams of 15 marks for each subjects total two times. Some Proffessorss give a little suggestion so the exams get a little little easy to pass atleast, though I'm a topper.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are not provided until you pass the 4th semester. After passing the 4th semester the departmental proffessorss organises internships for the students. There is no doubt that you'll find at least one internship.
Placement Experience :
In my college there is no tension about placements and internships because electrical department has record of getting highest number of placements in a department. Till this date 26th Jan,a almost 46+ students got placed out of 53 students in this year before 8th semester, average of 6 LPA job has been secured by the students. Lowest package secured is 3 LPA in CocaCola and highest of 7.5 LPA got secured by Arka Mitra dada in Dastur group of companies. Medium package is about 4.5 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In the time of admission they charged me about 10330 rupees for the whole first year where all the charges for the clubs, libraries and etc were there, where the examination fee or 1200 rupees for two semesters were excluded. And additional 5000 which was charged during the counselling process, will be used in the second semester fees. Hostels charge 16000 rupees per semester but for the 1st sem it costed around 21000 rupees where all the extra fees and insurance added.
Campus Life :
Many many cultural fests, tech fests, club programs, lots of meet ups, seminars frequently get organised. Total 16 active clubs are there in the college. The biggest fest in North Bengal, JECLAT is conducted in our college in the month of April or May. Tech fest SRISTI is conducted in the month of December.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel rooms are so big cleans, well constructed. In one rood 3 students live. Mess food is also very good. There are total 229 rooms in the 2nd year hostel and total 80 rooms in 1st year hostel. Food is controlled by the mess monitors.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
