- infrastructure is well and good, but faculty are very cooperative and approachable.
- What I loved most in the college is its Inter-departmental sport events for which all the students prepare for whole year to compete with each other department.
Dislikes
- Attendance, college is strict in terms of attendance criterion.
- somewhat campus size as it is the major issue because of which the college sports facilities are limited.
Remarks :
Among all the colleges under Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University St. Thomas college of Engineering and Technology is one of the good colleges. It's known for its good placement ratio and discipline. The college take admissions through Wbjee counselling rounds and management quota also. The cutoff is decided by the counsel itself, but assumptions can be made using previous cutoffs. For admission in this college Wbjee is the major check point as 80%of seats are reserved for Wbjee candidates. overall college is up to the mark for its discipline and teaching qualities. but only cons I feel is its attendance criterion and due to small campus, the sports facilities are also limited.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose artificial intelligence as a course for my career as the AI is building the future of the tech industries and to be the part of this future one should know AI. So, to have deep knowledge and experience in AI I opted for Artificial intelligence in Machine Learning. Faculty of this institution is well qualified in their subjects with good teaching experience. All the faculty members are very open and accessible for communication for their subject. During the semesters all the internal and end semester exams and dates are given by the university. All the semester exams are conducted within a month including practical. The semester exam papers are set by the university itself, but the level of the exam is not that much difficult. the paper is of moderate level.
Internships Opportunities :
Many students gain experience of the industry through internships. Although internships are not provided by the college but students may look for the opportunity from various companies and startups. Project are given and assigned for fourth year students with capable mentors.
Placement Experience :
Placement scenario is well and good, the criterion for the placement offers are decided by the company. but few basic criteria like attendance and minimum required CGPA above 7 are also needed. many companies like cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Namura, and many other comes with various job offers. The placement ratio is quite good, but it all depends upon the student whether the student is fair enough to secure its job or not with his skills acquired during his course. After the undergraduate many students opts for post-graduation also while some of them takes the job offers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In first semester at the time of admission Rs 90000 we be charged including caution deposit of Rs 10000 and other amenities. After all, the remaining semesters will be of Rs 637500 only including tuition fees of Rs 55000, development fees of Rs 8000 and amenities charges of Rs 500. So, for first year the fees goes to Rs 153750 but for all the remaining years of course fees will be Rs 127500. Many scholarships are accepted in the college whose details will be provided in the first year itself by the faculties or staff members.
Campus Life :
The life at campus is not that much extraordinary it also depends on your friend circle. The college provides appropriate fests and activities for the students throughout the academic year. Tech fests and activities such as Esports and so on, cultural fests and activities like dance singing and so on are organized. Freshers party and Fairwell events are also organized for newcomers and for passing out students. Inter departmental sports events are also organized for the students. broadly four sports i.e. cricket, football, table tennis and badminton are encouraged in the college for sports events. And one annual sports day is also organized for students with events like race, long jump, relay race, shotput etc. Basic library facility for all courses book is available and all classrooms are well equipped with projectors. some clubs and social groups are also run by the students. Also, STCET Regnant a football and tournament organized by college seniors every year.
Hostel Facilities :
Food at college canteen is affordable and is of appropriate quality. Canteen provides a good menu for every day of week. No hostel facility is provided by the college. But the office staffs provide with some nearby Pgs. The locality is quite available for students. some PG are also available in the locality. I currently rented a flat with my batchmates at Rs 12000 per month.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
