Choosing this college was a mix of several factors that just felt right. Firstly, the reputation of the institution for quality education and I have gone through the college placement record it was quite good almost every student got an offer from top MNCs. The campus environment seemed vibrant and conducive to learning. When it came to the admission process, I secured my seat through the second round of counseling in WBJEE, which is the key exam for engineering colleges in West Bengal. For ECE cutoff ranged from 12k to 18k and fortunately, I made it within that range. One of the best aspects of college is the faculty. They are knowledgeable, approachable, and always ready to guide students. One of the major things which has bonded me to this college is the sports culture. Our college does have a dress code and a set of rules and regulations. There were no group discussions or interviews for the admission process, one just needs to get a good rank in WBJEE examinations.
Choosing the ECE course was a no-brainer for me because it has a good career scope. The course curriculum has been meticulously designed to cover a wide range of subjects. Most of the faculties hold PhDs and the teaching medium is a mix of Bengali and English, students need to be aware of both languages. The assessment structure includes four Continuous Assessment(CA) exams, each spaced a month apart. CA1 and CA2 focus on presentations and report writing, while CA3 is a written exam conducted internally. CA4 is a computer-based MCQ exam conducted by MAKAUT, our affiliated university. The difficulty level of these exams is moderate. Our fee was 90k a year. Additionally, various scholarships are available for students such as swami vivekananda and scholarships for minority students offered by WBMDFC. Moreover, there's the student credit card scheme launched by the West Bengal government, providing financial assistance of up to 10 lakhs for eligible students.
I haven't got any internships yet. Apart from internships, our college also organizes industrial visits as part of our apprenticeship program. These visits offer practical insights into core subjects, allowing students to observe firsthand how concepts are applied in industry settings.
The placement scenario at our college is one of its strong suits and a significant factor in my decision to join. Almost every student securing offers from top MNCs. The average salary package stands at 4 LPA, with the highest package reaching a staggering 1 crore offered. The eligibility criteria for placements include no active backlogs, and 70% above in High School, but these conditions vary from company to company. Several top companies like Cognizant, Infosys, Mindtree, Wipro, and Accenture among others, have a strong relationship with the college and visit the campus every year without fail. The college boasts a placement rate of over 90% with more than 200 offers made every year, as per the placement records. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a position in a reputable company.
Campus life is enjoyable, with a strong sense of community among students. Although there's no official hostel, finding affordable PG accommodations near the campus is quite convenient. The campus atmosphere is friendly. One of the highlights of our college is the rich sports culture and several extracurricular activities available. Students actively participate in various sports events, adding excitement and fun to campus life. Additionally, there are regular cultural and technical fests like Srey and Dhun, held once a year. The library facilities are quite good, with a wide range of books and journals catering to the needs of students across different courses. The digital library further enhances accessibility to resources. Classrooms are good and provide a comfortable learning environment. While there's no official social group, students have formed informal groups and clubs to connect and engage in various activities together.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
