All about my college life
Likes
- The nature of the campus is so pleasant. We sit under the trees in the free time and gets relaxed. The view of the nature gets me stress free.
- My department teachers is the 2nd liked thing by me. They are so frank and comfortable towards us.
Dislikes
- The washroom is not clean enough. It smells bad all the time. Needs to be cleaned frequently.
- Some teachers of other department have some serious issues. They have lot of ego. They never treat students nicely. They think that they are the god. But they are not.
Remarks :
For our Economics department, it's not so hard to get here. But only if you're not so dumb. My name was in the first merit list, so i have never faced any difficulties to get admission here. There are no written examination taken by our college, it's all based on our merit score. Admission procedure was done nicely and it was convenient enough. It's so good college and very famous. Our college has a great reputation maintained in past. It's my honour to read in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I've applied in various other colleges for B com. But lastly I decided that I will take economics as my career also only in Midnapore College Autonomous. The teachers here are gentle. They know how to treat a student nicely. The way of teaching is very convenient to us. The HOD of our department treats us as we are her own child. All the teachers take care of all of our Academic problems and helps to find way to solve them. The're not like giving so many assignments and tutorials. What they gave us is to give answers based on our opinion and knowledge. No pressure is created for students. The examination process was also very good. Overall comparing other departments of our college with ours, I'll definitely say that we're lucky to get admission here.
Internships Opportunities :
No we don't get internships in our department. But other departments gets it and I am not sure about them. In my knowledge no internships are provided from our college. And no internships mean no stipend.
Placement Experience :
No we don't get any placements opportunities for our department. But I've heard a few times that the BCA department provides placements and job opportunities. Top companies like TCS, wipro, INFOSYS Etc. Visits our college for recruitments.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no tution fees and for admission in 1st year we've paid 3850 rs and in 2nd Sem we've paid 2900 Rs. Course fees are good and reasonable. All my batchmates have paid the same amount. Our college doesn't provide any scholarship themselves. We get a Scholarship from West Bengal Government named SVMCM. With this scholarship we can pay our college fees for one year with other personal expenses too.
Campus Life :
Our college has a pleasant infrastructure. We've got basketball court, cricket ground, football ground. All these makes our sport activities to next level. Our canteen is nice. Hygiene maintained. A large number of food varieties available there, with enough place to sit. We got a library also. Here I can get almost all of my academic books. A large varieties of books are available here. Here we can get almost all books of our need. Personally I've previously taken all my books of my 1st sem from here and returned after 1st sem also. The classroom are not so hybrid. We got old wood benches with dusts over them. Classroom are not so good but we can't expect everything as too good. Our classroom have fans and lights also. But in summer we will surely face difficulties.
Hostel Facilities :
They provides hostel services but I've not applied for it as I was unaware about all these. But some of my friends got selected for hostel services. As per their experiences I can say that the hostel services are not so good or so bad. The fees are low. They're living 5 students in a room Each have one bed. Feeling comfortable. The hostel food is also not so good or bad It's average. We get veg rice 4 days and 2 days of egg rice and 1 day with meat.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
Jalpaiguri Institute of technology good collage but fees are high

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
Review of my collage
Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
